I spent some time reading the old posts from 2010 regarding Model 39's. There were many questions and speculation on short tang, long tang, steel frames M39 & 59 stamped with 7.65 caliber and Early s/n's stamped Model 39 with a short tang that should have been a pre-39 (no model stamp). With the help of collectors here and information from the SWHF records, many of the original questions now have answers. Should anyone still have questions regarding any of the above or anything else not mentioned here, feel free to contact me or post here so others can see the answers. Having access to information on S&W guns is another great reason to join both the SWCA and SWHF.
