Howdy,

Disclaimer... This is intended to be a fun topic...

I would consider myself to be a student of firearms...

Meaning every gun I have thats a shooter I train with it as I would carry it whether OWB/IWB or fire on the home range, and really my thought is whats the point of having it if you don't use it as intended... yes I get bored of something and sell it off or try something else I KNOW chalk it up to my attentionspan hahah...

So using things as intended... Tonight's (Fancy)carry is the Shorty.40, I figure what the heck I shoot pretty good with it its super compact IMO and is super comfortable appendix carry with a back up 11rd mag....

And compared to the normal edc G19 legion minimalist slide and Trijicon RMR type 2, I figured if it has to sit in evidence, oh well, the Shorty.40s don't fetch much and is easily replaced I've had 3 lol..

She eats ranger 180gr T series like I drink Jameson 12year haha, nice.... and ..... smooth.

So whats everyone else's fancy carry?

When I was a kid I was at a neighbor's house as the parents were getting ready to go out. I happened to see the father open a drawer, take out a Colt pocket auto and slip it in his belt. Ever since then I thought of that series of pistols as being elegant carry guns.

My carry guns are all pretty utilitarian. I have recently started carrying my custom Colt Govt Model 1911, but it's not really any fancier than any number of 1911s out on the market today.

While I have no intention of ever carrying it, I suppose if I really needed a fancy carry gun, it'd have to be my Colt Series 70 Gold Cup.

I don't own any handgun that could be referred to as "fancy".

But I do have "goin' to the city" guns.

Normally, around here, I carry a 3" 65-3. However, when I'm required to go to Portland, which is every once in a while, I carry my 4006 and keep my BHP in the console next to me.

My fancy out on the town carry gun is the same as my every day carry gun. No one is going to ever see it unless I have to shoot them. Concealed carry means concealed. A barbecue gun.... different story

IMO if it has that little unicorn stamped on the slide it's fancy. If it's not a Colt, it's a boring copy.

I have two engraved guns. I used to lug around one or the other of them when dining out on the weekends in "my married days." By far the most used was an Interarms-Walther PPK (stainless) .380. It always functioned just fine but would shoot a mile high compared to my other guns. I thought it useless for any need of precision shooting because of that. I talked to a couple of knowledgeable PPK people about the problem. It seemed to be pretty common, but no one knew what to do about it other than, "Aim for the belt buckle." :o

My other one is a Model 36 - a much more satisfactory gun, but a lot harder to carry comfortably. It was soooo nice I hardly ever used it. These days I use neither of them. Fun while it lasted.

That Gold Cup is an outstanding carry gun! One of my favorites for boondocking.

Not valid without pics. This has been posted before, but ...

Model 36 no dash, enhanced with Grashorn stags, Tyler T, and original Lobo leather. Closest I can get to BBQ wear. :D Unfortunately, this pic was when I still thought oil was good, and before wax. I know better now. ;)

I've got a couple that serve as the Party/ Barbecue ones when I know I'm going to be around friends or LEO buddies only(not shown here). But if going into the City which hasn't happened much for the past year I pick one of my all business carry's; concealed of course.
