Anybody here have an attack dog?

I inherited Sam a wire haired terrier from my late girl friend. He only attacks larger dogs. Not to smart.

When I first met her she had a real old HUGE Alaska something or other that weight about 140#. He was friendly but she said once when her son was young a cable guy came to the house and asked if the dog was friendly and the kid said "No, he'll rip your throat out" Took a while to get TV.

That's how my sister's/parents dogs are. Two noisy dachshunds and some kind of black mouth cur hound mutt. My sister leaves her dog over there by day when she's at work, and comes back for him in the afternoon, or sometimes midnight. She'll go all the way into my parents room and dig her 'oliver' out from underneath the covers in my parents bed, and nobody wakes up.

Re: OP. Wonderful dog. My attack dog? Molly the Wonderdog! Who? Molly the Wonderdog! Why the title "Wonderdog?" Easy. It's a wonder she's alive On Easter Sunday morning I was going out to the car to drive to the location where I would conduct the Easter Sunrise worship service for the local community. I heard the sound of a large pickup truck w/ big tires coming around the curve. I just got around the side of the house in time to see a little white something being thrown from the passenger window... rolling like a rag doll across the front yard. In a moment that little rag doll stood up and started running, whining and crying. It ran under the car and huddled against the front tire shaking. It took over four months to help that tiny puppy calm down to the point that my daughter could put her hand on the puppy's head.

There came a day when I was in my office working when I again heard the sound of truck tires on the curve and then the sound of crying and whining. I found Molly and scooped her up, jumped in the car and headed for the vet. To much money later (two kid's in college, etc.), Molly came home. She fully recovered.

Molly is a 9 yr. old Heinz 57 who is probably 99.44% English pointer w/ just enough of something else to keep her from having all the features of a EP. She has a buttermilk disposition. She terrorizes squirrels and other such stuff. It is not uncommon for me to look up from my desk and see her eying me tail wagging with this "come on let's go walk/jogging" look on her face. She is a very good girl. She alerts us to anyone who walks up or drives up to the house. She is Molly the Wonderdog! God bless the day she came into our lives!
 
We have a pit we found at 6 months old at the local pound.

The pound sent an officer to our house to insure we had an inpenetrable enclosure for safety. God forbid she should break free and terrorize the neighborhood!

Whoever had her and dropped her off to the pound must have loved her and she was a model citizen there.

We took her home and she shortly revealed her true character, a total love sponge.

She wants nothing more than to be in your lap or sitting where she can touch you with a paw.

She sleeps in our bed between SWMBO and myself, spooning with one of us and touching the other.

Whenever there's a strange noise she does the pack warning 'hoof!', looks at it, looks at me, 'hoof's' again and motions with her muzzle for me to check it out. A real girl! She's not going to dirty her nails on it.

She loves to play fight with me and she's got potential, but hurting anything is not something she wants to do. She had a great relationship with my daughter's rabbit. Best buds.

No attack, a few stupid ones, but no tough ones.:rolleyes:
We have some really tough cats though. There are a few that Missus Fan allows in the house. One night I walked into the kitchen late at night. She said Roy growled at me.:eek:

All you rough tough gun guys and gals with those dangerous dogs are a bunch of wimps. I have two guard dogs, a golden retriever that barks at the wind and dust and a dust mop dogs that thinks she it a would class fighter that talks a good fight. She runs and hides behind the golden if you make a move. If there is a knock at the door they come looking for me and hide in the hall until the visitor is inside and then they attack with every thing they have, slapping tail, dripping tongues and whines until they get pats and belly rubs.

I have no doubt that if someone was to break into the house that the dogs would help the bad guy find the good stuff and hold the door when they left just for a belly rub

allmost riped the finger of our neighbour :D
(he was stupid enaugh to try to pet the little critter when he barked at him :rolleyes:)
