Personally,I love 'em! Any way, shape or form! The missus and I are going to the annual Lion's Club Shrimp & Oyster Roast in an hour or so. All you can shuck. Lots of folks and a great time. I'll be there for at least a couple of hours,I'm sure.

I love Oysters, on the half shell, fried, whatever.

I frequent the Oyster Bar at the Union Oyster House in Boston where John Adams used to belly up.
The shuckers have been there for thirty years. It's quite an experience.

I just fried up a quart of Maryland one's a few months back. First time I had done it. Used my cast iron skillet. They turned out perfect. Wish I had taken a pick.

Love 'em. Especially on the half-shell or oyster stew.

The less stuff you put into the stew the better it is. Paula Deen makes it about the way that I do. I never use milk, always half-and-half. Which ever, be careful not to boil it.

Yummy! - Jim

Speaking of Paula Deen, I had dinner with her and Michael last April and she told me of her brother Bubba's char-broiled oysters at his restaurant in Savannah. I tried them the next time I was in Savannah, which was about a month later, they were absolutely scrumptious.

Oh yeah! Having some ChesBay ones tomorrow, in fact, after a little seakayaking. Yummmm.....

Re: Paula Deen's Oyster Stew...Where's the worchestershire? You gotta add a good shot of that!
And way less green onions.
And I think she meant half a stick of butter.
+1 on the half-and-half though!

Howdy,
Don't forget the smoked ones.
I like em' fried, smoked, broiled, and in stew but I can take them or leave them raw.
Thanks
Mike

Wow- that sounds GOOD..... never had any.
I like the smoked ones.
Fried not so much- seems to kill a lot of flavor.
Also love them raw, but tell me about the bacteria rumors, please???? They are just a filter by design.....

I HATE them , I work at an oyster company , I see them by the gallons everyday for hours on end . To top it off I'm allergic to them . So if you really want some of the best oysters (so I've been told they are) you can order the lil slimey suckers from here
