As a walk-in customer of Streicher's, Butler, WI, I ordered an M&P40C from them in December '12. Didn't receive it until July '13. It was a LEO/Military/Security deal & the price of $398 was good enough not to cancel & I already had a carry gun but the wait! Originally I was told the wait could be up to 2 months(!). Their latest catalog shows magazines in stock for M&Ps (except compacts) & Glocks. I wouldn't count on it, though. I have a feeling that they're very low on the list for many of their items & big box stores get theirs first. I get the catalog & go there to get something advertised & they don't have what I'm interested in. I'm glad the trip is less than 5 miles & right down the street from me.
I've heard stories about why they no longer carry Glocks. One is that they had a difference with Glock about their discount program & they were offering it everyone. Glock objected. When I ordered my M&P I offered to show my retired military ID & my security credentials, both of which qualified for the discount but he said there was no need. One of the clerks said it wasn't true. Another clerk wouldn't say why & another clerk said since the large PDs in their area no longer uses Glocks but rather M&Ps. Yet another clerk said that they also carried S&W & offered a discount on them, too & that irked Glock who wanted to be the only gun carried there.
They have holsters there but every time I want to buy one the one I want is not in stock even though it's in their latest catalog. Too bad they have the best prices around but that does no good if I want something they don't have it.
Streicher's & I go back a long time. Between my Navy & Army years I used to go to their original store in Milwaukee & shoot. At that time there was a range. That was a looong time ago. Now their main store is in Minneapolis & their store in Butler, WI, a suburb of Milwaukee is basically a hole in the wall.
