Armed

If it’s not on me, it’s with in reach as long as I don’t have to go through a metal detector.

As long as it's legal, I'm carrying. Might be a .22wmr mini revolver, might be a 1911 in .45acp, or it might be something in-between. As long as there is a 2nd Amendment, I'm exercising my right to carry.

...There was a murder 2 years ago on my street. The first one in 30 years! Turned out to be a love triangle, jealousy!...

Two cases come to mind.

One, Lucky Dude was having an affair with Jealous Guy's wife. JG follows LD home, LD parks in space reserved for apartment 32c, JG walks up to 32c and kills occupant. (LD lived in 41d, but knew 32c had no car, so he parked in that space because it was closer to his apartment.)

Two, Money Bags hires Hapless Hitman to kill the attorney representing his soon to be ex wife. HH follows attorney to work, notes where he parks Black Luxury Sedan on 3d floor of parking garage, follows attorney around decides parking garage is place to kill attorney. Returns to 2d floor of garage and stakes out BLS one floor under and one space over from attorney's. HH kills owner of wrong car.

Just seen too much to believe anyplace is totally safe.

I carry when legal. In MA that means I don't get to walk around the house in my underwear unless I lock up the gun or carry it in my hand. Either one is more trouble than putting on a pair of shorts.

It is quite a burden to have to wear shorts in my own house, but being deprived of my own private nudist camp is still better than living in New Jersey or Hawaii. Since this is not a poltical forum, I will refrain from commenting on California, even though MA is only a little better.

Call the nice folks at Davenport Guns in Davenport Iowa (Free America), last time I was there they had a whole line of "carry underwear" men and womens briefs and undershirts with various carry options built in. I don't remember the brand name.

Well, Arik is probably pretty close to right. I have a very light (11 ounces unloaded) M340 PD, and in its pocket holster, it is easy to forget that I'm carrying. I put it in my pocket when I get dressed in the morning, and take it out when I get ready for bed at night. There are places where I'm not allowed by law to carry, and I try to accommodate their wishes as much as possible. Especially if they actually have metal detectors and folks manning them, and check everyone. But this is pretty rare where I live.

So "most of the time" is probably an honest answer, partly because it's easier to carry all day than to keep taking the gun in and out of my pocket!!

Best Regards, Les

I don't carry in the shower or when cutting the lawn. My employer absolutely forbids it and has massive legal consequences to enforce it. I try to be armed enough to be a hard target. Joe

A 70 year old man in Chicago was knocked to the ground and shot while mowing his lawn. A US Senator was knocked to the ground and six ribs broken by a neighbor, while mowing the lawn.

I do take exception to carrying while in the shower, but mowing, carrying out the garbage or just sitting on my porch, and anywhere legal - armed! My pajamas don't have a belt, but in a pinch, I have a shoulder holster handy (open carry is not permitted here) ;)

So he has 'massive legal consequences to enforce it' - how about his 'legal consequences' should he have to deal with a robbery and /or injury or death of an employee ?

I always have a .380 in my pocket, even at home.

Never carry in the house...

...or whilst mowing the grass, washing the cars, playing golf, etc.

That said, have carried at some point nearly every day since 1975. However, I didn't carry in Mexico, on a cruise, in Canada, the Czech Republic, Australia, or Merry Olde England just last summer.

Nor will I be carrying during my upcoming motorcycle ride from Miami to Key West (and stay there) followed immediately by a flight to Las Vegas and a few days there.

I don't conduct my day-to-day activities any differently whether carrying or not carrying.

BTW, have lived more than half my life in big cities: DC, Boston, and New York City. Same personal 'rules' there.

Be safe.

Why would you lock it up, you could have the gun on the table next to you, if had underwear or not. In Ma,do you have to be wearing it, if it is not in the safe? Just curious?? Be Safe,

Also living in MA and with significant expertise in MA gun laws, I'll answer that. MA law makes it a felony to have any gun unsecured unless it is under your control at all times. So it is illegal to leave it on a table near you if you walk away without taking it with you. What constitutes "under your control" is intentionally left up to the police and DA to interpret when they arrest/prosecute you in front of judges that are almost 100% anti-2A.

Don't carry in a post office or a court house and my kids are no longer in school so I do not have any reason to be on school property , any other place and time I am carrying . I don't have a gun IN the shower but when I'm in it the access door o the room is locked and I can reach a m60 without leaving the shower or opening the shower door .

I carry only when visiting kids and grand kids in larger cities such as the Twin Cities and Sioux Falls. The town I live in is so safe that one time we were gone for 3 days and didn't notice that the overhead garage door went back up after we left. It was wide open for the whole time and nothing was touched including power tools, bikes, lawn mower, snow blower etc.

And the only thing that was different was that Pastor Ingqvist had dropped off a bushel of Sweet Corn.

AFAIK, LenS is regarded as THE expert on MA gun law.

I have at least one gun on me all the time. More than one at work.

Off duty I always have a gun. Until yesterday. I have an eye injury to my dominant eye. Now I can barely read the second line on the eye chart. Can’t even see my gun sights when held out to arms length. So until that heals, I feel carrying a gun is more of a danger to everyone else and not responsible for me to carry. So for the next few days/week(s) it takes to heal, it will be just a knife. It feels strange not to have a gun.

Hope that you get better quickly.
