As if Harleys weren't annoying enough...

Had a good friend in Fresno that built a Pan front Knuckle rear. Oddest thing. Pan, Knuckle, both generator bottom ends, you'd have to have a pretty keen eye to notice the difference.

Got back into riding motorcicle bout 5 or 6 years ago. Bought used 48 sporty that had standard v&h slip ons installed. So loud cruising that it gave me headaches, even with a full coverage helmet. Put "quiet baffles" in, and made it much better. And got more low end torque back, especially with modified fuel/air mix. Yes it is still loud when opening it up, which i simply won't do in town, but relatively mild when cruising steady.

What is much more annoying to me is the "turbo boost ?" some are putting on their trucks. First time i heard one, sounded like a house cat getting it from a mountain lion. Looked out the window expecting to see fast moving vehicle tearing down the road, all i saw was slow moving truck with very loud screech screaming for attention.

This was my ‘14 Fat Bob, 120” motor with a Bassani exhaust. Really easy to keep it mild but oh my did it have a nice roar when jumping on it lol. I would only rev it at a stop light to drown out the crappy rap music with nasty language at a car next to me. That was fun!

At the expense of those around you that are pursuing peace and quiet.
We live 10 miles up outside town in a canyon in Calirado…lil dik types race up and down on sport bikes, harley types, tuner cars, etc…my wife and I can’t hear each other as we talk on the patio. The same ones who would whine like lil btches if we reved up outside their houses at any time of the day.

Inconsiderate and dangerous as they pass vehicles on blind curves and double yellows as well.

Patience. That’s often eventually self-correcting behavior.
Accurate. In fire dept training last night one station was a biker who bit the big one. There are a few every summer.

My wife’s and my fear is us or a friend is killed because of bikers being careless and breaking laws. Don’t really care much if they off themselves. Choices have consequences.

For 100 years loud motorcycle and car engine noise has been suggestive of extra power. Today some of the fastest accelerating motorcycles and cars are electric, while making relatively little sound. Perhaps quiet will become the new suggestive symbol of extra power and speed. People will hear a loud motorcycle and think "if they could convert all that noise to power maybe it'd be quicker"!
