Average age here

Finishing 63 in Sept.
Still able to sit-up and take nourishment.:D
"Average is something you never want to be called".;)

I'm 43 and like revolvers, 1911's, A-5's and pre 64 model 70's.

Most of us are about two years older than when this thread started.

Where's the op? Haven't seen him in a while.

oldman45, Here's to you.

Fixin to be 68 in April. Have a plastic one and Smith 5906 and my beautiful nickel wheel guns. Think I'll go rub one of them right now....Oops forgot the the ole duty weapon 686 an the PD 66

Double Nickel. I like all revolvers and 1911s. Have a couple other nice semiautos that are collectible. I have one black polymer gun, Hk USPc 45. Dislike strike fired autos.

I have softened a bit in my old age and Florida Humidity; I now own a stainless steel gun or two. Plastic is not here to stay—just like that damned television people talk about.

An indoor range that I sometimes use charges by the hour, so before I go I load up some magazines on my time so I can shoot them on the range’s time.
I was laying out loaded41 l magazines the other day when some young guy said; Wow! Where did you get all of the mags?
I told him that I only buy one about every three or four years but I keep them all. They begin to accumulate after about 40-50 years.

Just turned 79.

41 loaded mags? how freaking heavy is your range bag? ...or do you just back the pickup to the range doors?

Me: 66, and the "youngest" firearm I own is 5 yrs old, the next is 23 years old, and the others are 30+, 57, 59, 82, and 99 yrs old respectively. Old is good, literally in my opinion.

I'm 65 and remember many of my generation thought the 9mm couldn't cut it stopping power wise. Most plastic guns were 9mm so maybe where the prejudice came from? With todays premium ammunition probably lack of power is not an issue. I carry a model 60 my wife a model 66 with 2.5 inch barrel and round grips. I truly am most comfortable shooting a K or L frame and range results show it. Our son at 24 has a Ruger 1911 in 9mm and a Walther PK380. I did once buy a 1st Gen Glock 17 because they were police turn ins with new barrels and only $275.

74 and still counting!
I have three guns, all revolvers.
A 442, 60-15 and a Ruger flattop 44 SPL in SS.

Best,
Rick
