Battery Charger Question

Finding a good charger that can be carried seems to be a bit harder to find. I may end up with one that is on wheels. I may also get a maintainer from HF or somewhere else just for the tractor(diesel) and the 4 wheeler. Got a jumpstarter coming from Amazon...

Beware the cheap (<$10) HF "trickle chargers".
They work fine on full size car/truck batteries, but they will overcharge and cook a motorcycle/lawn tractor size battery.
I've had to replace several batteries in our quads due to the HF trickle chargers overcharging (boiling off the water).

Schumacher is always a good choice. I was told once they built the old Craftsman charger for Sears. IDK if that’s true but it sounds right. My Schumacher with carry handle is probably 20’yrs old

I have a Shumacher charger that I bought 10-15 years ago. It works well. Bought a man portable booster/charger gadget last Christmas for the stepson. Big yellow and black thing in Sam's club. I don't know if he has had cause to use it in anger yet.

CTEK 40-206 MXS 5.0

It is a little more expensive but, is a great charger/maintainer/Reconditioner. Supposedly they are putting the top of the line CTEK in high end cars purchased from the dealer.

I got battery pigtails for all batteries so that I can use 1 charger and just plug and play.

This is the brand I purchased. Not cheap, but I use it as a tender for my 4 wheeler and another for my lawn tractor. They have the option for car / motorcycle. I think there is one other option, but don't recall what it is. I have had mine for several years and working great. Cheaper than replacng batters at 150 - 200 a pop.
