Bedside storage question

I keep my 40c with one in the chamber by the bed. I took an 18 inch aluminum door push plate and bent it in half. One half slides between the mattress and boxspring, the other half sits flush against the boxspring and on the mattress frame. I mounted a blackhawk serpa holster to the lower half of the plate. My wife keeps one of the those fancy mattress covers on the bed so it covers it up naturally and you cant see anything is there. In the dark I can see the glowing night sights so I know where to reach if I need it.
The rest of my guns are in the Fort Knox safe.

I use the same basic thing, only made from kydex and leather and I flipped mine over so it is higher up. I sleep on that same side of the bed as your pic shows and am right handed, I want the gun as close to me as possible without having to roll over to grab it with my right hand. And yes, sheets and a quilt cover it nicely during the day. Bought mine for $20 I think.

So it sounds like most people keep a full mag, so I shouldn't be concerned about spring issues in the mag itself if it stays full for a few weeks at a time. Appreciate all the responses!

Your mag can stay full for 100 years. It will not effect the magazine's performance.
I shot mags loaded during WWI, and they functioned perfectly.

Over 30 years, between the mattress and box springs, SS only. mine on my side, wife's on her side. Bed wetters use caution. bought a rusty one the other day, been under the mattress for 10years, guy only took it out cause he was moving.
