best trigger for the M&P 10

Anyone adjusted the SSA-E to a lower weight? 4 lbs is a lot for me.
I would like a 2 lb. trigger.

This is a non adjustable trigger. They make other models that are adjustable.

The Geissele SSA-E has a pull weight of about 3.5 lbs. There is 2.3 lbs. on the 1st stage and 1.2 lbs. on the 2nd stage.

Just received my order from grabagun.com yesterday. Magpul PRS AR10 $175.64 and a SSA-E trigger for $189.91 delivered in 4 days for a total with shipping $382.35.
If thats not a deal, I dont know what it is.

Does anyone have any experience with the Hiperfire Hipertouch 24c trigger?

I just ordered my M&P 10 and it should be here by Friday. I am new to the forum and I am planning to do a few upgrades in the next 2 weeks. Thanks

Primary Arms is having a Spring sale on triggers "15trigger" gets you 15% off. I picked up a Timney 668-s Competition 2 stage for 170.00 plus 3.85 shipping.

SSA-E all day long here. I will never use a single stage trigger again if I don't have to. I love the short take up and crisp break. You definitely know when she's gonna pop.

Ok.. maybe this has been beaten to death (maybe I searched incorrectly, found little) but... what did you have against the single stage. I have both a CMC single stage 3.5# and the SSA-E and to be honest, I don't see the point in the SSA-E take up. Just one more thing to do before engaging 'the trigger' at about 2.5-3# second stage. Once I've decided to shoot, I put my finger on the (single stage) trigger and with a gentle decision translated to my finger the trigger breaks cleanly and the gun goes off. What's the purpose of adding another action (take-up). This isn't a criticism because there are obviously many more skilled than I who prefer the two stage. If there's an advantage I honestly want to know because I paid for it and am clearly missing out.

I don't know what all the fuss is about for two stage triggers either. I guess they have their place somewhere but for my intended use which is hunting, I want a single stage, light, crisp break. I had my M&P 10 trigger done by Bill Springfield and it is fantastic. Bill has done five different rifles for me and they all have crisp, clean breaks between 3-3.5 pounds. Well, except for my Thompson Impact and it breaks at around two pounds. If Bill hadn't been able to do the trigger on my 10, I would have put in one of the Hiperfire triggers mentioned above. Simple drop in and no modifications to make it fit. From all the reviews I've read on this trigger, it looks like it will be giving Timney, Geissele, etc, some stiff competition.

The standard single stage trigger has a long sear engagement resulting in significant creep before the sear breaks. This long engagement is needed for added safety against doubling and unintentional discharges from sear bounce caused by rough handling and being banged around. The two stage G trigger retains this safety feature by using a reduced pull for most of the sear engagement, but just prior to the sear break, uses an extension on the semi-auto sear to engage the back of the hammer to add the pressure of the sear spring to the trigger pull.

The crisp single stage triggers lack the long sear engagement to prevent doubling and sear bounce. Instead, they use a half cock sear to catch the hammer when it falls without the trigger being pulled

YES; But I see you have an old post there so you have already found that the MP-10 has to have the ambi-bolt release removed to accommodate the booster spring set-up on that trigger. I found that the end results of this trigger is well worth the inconvenience. They now have a re-engineered EDT for $89.00 that does not require any modifications and it is reported to be leaps and bounds ahead of the [creepy] stock trigger.
Notice the pix of the left-hand bolt release plug later in this post.

Geissele is the best AR trigger you can buy. I personally like the SSA-E model, and run them in all my AR's. Nice, clean break, 3.75 lb, 2 stage, but short first stage so you can run it fast if you want.

Same here, all 11 of my 556/223 and 308 semi's have the Geissele SSA-E trigger installed. Just installed one in my brother in laws MP 10. It took a little longer than my semi's because of the ambi bolt release but no big thing. He now is a very happy camper.:D

HYPERTOUCH 24-3G is comparable on a AR to a JEWELL on a benchrest bolt-gun. If put on an MP-10 you have to lose the ambi-bolt release to clear the overhead booster springs. No big loss unless you are south-paw. The vacancy left by the [removed] ambi-release on the lower can be plugged with a little work and is unnoticeable.

HIPERTOUCH® 24 3G - 3Gun AR15/10 Fire-Control Drop-In

To each his own ;)

I spoke to Terry Bender at Hiperfire about this and he said this trigger (hipertouch243g) is not compatible with the M&P 10. The E1 model will be but is not out yet.

I just got my M&P10 and was wondering if any of these triggers are drop in 1 piece and do have to do anything besides take out the 2 pins and remove the trigger assembly, thank you for any info.
