FYI: I am currently testing the battery life on my TRS-25 red dot sight. It has been "On" in brightness level 4 since 8/24, with no loss of intensity!

This little sight has become very popular, and deservedly so. Its performance is excellent, and its price is right.

As soon as it happens, I will post the battery's time of death.

Awesome, I just got one of these for my sons 20ga slug gun he uses for deer season. Sighted it in on some discounted pumpkins over the weekend. He loves it.

This thread got me thinking about the battery life on my Primary Arms micro dot. So I did the math and it should last 41 days straight while being on. I'm not going to do that, but it gives me some relief for those days I forget to turn it off.

Anyway, keep us posted on how long yours lasts.

I have had a TRS-25 for year now. It has held zero, has great battery life, and thus far durable. Anyone use a magnifier with it? I have been thinking of getting one.

Still going strong. Red dot appears as bright and sharp as it did last August! Will update again when it dies.....

Of course I've always had great results from Bushnell products, so this isn't a big surprise.

Nice to hear I just picked one up for my new Troy Carbine 556. I knew it was a mini/micro dot but dang that thing is small while very easy to use/see. I think I read somewhere its like 3000 hour battery life. Much better than my $20 BSA red dot on the 15-22. If I leave that sucker on for a day or two its dead. I will say the BSA has been a great little red dot for the money and has held zero no problem.

I use a 1" UTG 3-slot riser for full witness with my MagPul front. I swap it out with a scope occasionally, and the UTG/TRS holds zero very well.

Love mine, I got a combo deal at Primary Arms. TRS25 and UTG mid or high mount for 79 shipped.

The UTG mount is decent. I went with the 1/3 cowitness:

10 bucks.

I use this now instead of my primary arms m4 clone because everytime i took off the m4 and replaced it the POI would change.

I'm debating whether to get a TRS25 or a Vortex SPARC for my Mossberg 930. I know that the TRS25 is less than half the price of the SPARC, but I have been so impressed by Vortex that it's hard not to give them the business. Then again, for the price of the SPARC, I can get the TRS25, a Nordic +2 extension and the extension clamp or the ETA safety. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

That isn't the one with the auto shut off after sitting for so many hours is it ? Then comes back on when moved ? I've "heard" some come back on,some stay off. ...Just wondering.

I also read there is a red dot that has a solar cell that keeps it going too.Not on mine,but was in my directions.

UPDATE: going on 8 months, and the TRS25 dot is still as bright as in August when I turned it on.

To the sceptics up in here, there is no auto shut-off, no solar cell, and yes, I did peel off the little clear sticker with a red dot printed on it.

Hi. I have the SPARC on my M&P 15, and the TRS25 on the 15-22. I think I actually prefer the TRS25. The dot is smaller and keeps its dot shape. On the sparc, the dot looks like a ding in the windshield after a hundred rounds at the range.

The SPARC also has a power button in an exposed spot, so I had to cut the foam out of my rifle case to keep it from pressing it on. Then it has little wires connecting all of the sight adjustment and battery housings, and they are annoying (I think I am going to try to just cut them off)

The TRS25 for half the price is a tidier package.

Anybody been able to self repair these cutting out from .22LR recoil? I've had one living on my 22/45 for a few months and the dot has been either dropping to almost nothing or completely disappearing at least 5-6 times per range trip since day one.

A really light tap on the side of the optic seems to bring it back to life so I've been assuming it's just a battery contact thing but no amount of futzing w/ the spring or cap tension has seemed to fix it so far. I would really like to avoid having to ship it to Bushnell if possible.

I would agree that when it's working, it's a really nice RDS for the money.

That is pretty amazing! I remember a guy that deer hunts with us had a red dot on his slug gun, he paid about $350 for it if I remember correctly. He was always replacing batteries. If he left it on all day it would be dead...

I love mine and have never had any issue with it cutting out. First set of batteries and from the sounds of it, the battery will go bad before it is run out of power.

You need to ship it back. It has a loose contact inside beyond the battery. They should fix or replace it.
