Hey Robert!

I assume that there is only one Packin' Preacher in the world. Congrats on the gun. Please bring it to next month's IDPA match so that I can drool all over it (unless Ryan cancels three in a row!).

Hi Packin' Preacher:

Welcome to the flock, er, uh Forum. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but among many, the Model 60-7 is considered the finest version of the Model 60 line. It has the wider front sight blade, it's been heat treated to fire the +P .38 Special ammo, and it's built on a non-magnum frame. Some guys don't like to carry guns with the "Ladysmith" engraving on it, but that doesn't bother me a bit. I once bought a used Model 60-7 (non-Ladysmith version) at a good price and traded it to a fellow Forum member for a CZ-75B. While it was a very good trade, I do often regret the loss of the little Model 60-7 and hope to replace it one day.

By the way, I had Crimson Trace LG-405 laser grips on my Model 60-7 which my wife and I both enjoyed. If your wife doesn't like or want laser grips, the Hogue rubber grips are a good alternative, but makes the overall size of the handgun larger.

I WOULD LIKE TO ENDORSE Dave's SUGGESTION OF THE ADDITION OF CRIMSON TRACE LASER GIPS TO HER REVOLVER. THE LG-405 MODEL HAS A CUSHIONED BACKSTRAP AREA, WHICH REALLY ABSORBS RECOIL. IT WILL MAKE HER EXPERIENCE WITH THE REVOLVER MORE PLEASANT, AND THE LASER WILL BOOST HER CONFIDENCE, IN THAT SHE WILL BE HITTING WHATEVER SHE LAYS THAT RED DOT ON--FROM DAY ONE--NO BIG LEARNING CURVE INVOLVED.
