Congrats. Hopefully does no take to long. Mine took longer then normal for my town but it was also misplaced. I have yet to get the proper holster or carry gun (getting both next month) so at the time It was no big deal. What did you have to do to get the permit in your state?

Given that Il was the last state hold out and is still in heated debate, It probably involves procedures more commonly found on hardcore porn sites:eek:

Just kidding ... mostly :p
Glad to see some proper progress

Ya I noticed IL after the post and cringed. I figure he is probably missing a kidney and had to preform a blood sacrifice on a goat. I'm lucky I think Maine is among the easiest states to obtain a permit.

Super easy to get in Utah and can carry almost anywhere with a few exceptions.

Because I am a vet I had to take a 8hr class which include a range test of 30 rounds. 10 at 5 yd. 10 at 7 10 at 10. Needed to score 90%. Target was as big as a barn lol. Class room about all the laws for our state. The 16 hr. class more class time. O an a lot about safety which is a very good thing.

Wow pretty close on that one  They are making as difficult as possible. Everything has to be done on line photos scan all documents an fingerprints. Its a good thing I have two kidneys. The goat sacrifice was the worst. Lots of blood :D :D

If the Chicago political machine had its way you'd need to sacrifice your first born & if that happens to be a goat then you'd need to sacrifice your second born AND a goat. No kids, no license.

It was a breeze here in Missouri to get my CCW.jIt was at the instructors home and his wife made coffee and he came up with some summer sausage that was fantastic. 8 hours of safety and concealed gun laws pertaining to our state. Range time, and I got the papers to take to the sheriff's dept. One week later to the day I had the stuff for the license office and had my non-drivers ID showing the CCW endorsement the same day.
With and abbreviation like IL for your state, maybe there is an internal lock problem or malfunction? Just guessing.
Peace,
Gordon

pretty easy in Washington...pay your money...get finger printed..wait around 30 days on background check...done deal...I carry almost anywhere I go...they are trying to change things here with a bill that would require background on even private sales but I don't think it will pass

Mmmkay .... but do you still have possession of your soul?
If so, what else did they accept as collateral?

Yes, very easy here in Washington state. Right now the fee is around $50. Cash or check only. Submit paperwork, fingerprints and it is processed. All of this is done at the local LEO or at Sheriffs Office if you live in an unincorporated area. Fingerprints are done when you fill out paperwork (cool computer/machine, no ink, less mess).

Washington state is still considered a "shall issue" state. Which means so long as you do not have a felony (certain felonies), no weapons violations, no domestic violence convictions, child molesting or involuntary mental committal hanging over your head, you will be issued a "Concealed Pistol License". (There maybe a few other cannot have charges/convictions but for the most part those listed above covers it.

I would like to see a couple of charges added to the list or at least a mandatory intensive investigation into the charges added to the list, but hey, that's just me.

On the flip side, Washington state is an "open carry" state with very little, next to no regulations. There is no law that states you can OC, but there is no law against it other than a few saying you can not OC if... or must be... to Open Carry. So, because there is no law that says you cannot open carry with a few exceptions, you can open carry with almost no restrictions.

And yes, you do have to be 21 to process a handgun. At one time you only had to be 18.

No finger printing here. The course was about 8 hrs ( price determined by the place giving the training usually between $75-$120 ) no shooting required just mostly classroom material and a lot of Q&A. $35.00 to send in for your permit and it comes a few weeks later pending approval.

While it is super easy to get one here it also has a fault as far as not weeding out those who should not have one ( those who cant shoot ) I have no military or law enforcement training but I grew up shooting guns and can shoot as good as the next guy.

Being an ISP certified instructor I applied for mine on 12/18/13 and now am waiting like everyone else. I don't know where you got your information on the 30 round qualification but you only need to score 70% or 21 hits on target. The scored area for the qualification is the black area not the scoring rings. I have not had anyone come even close to not qualifying. Jim.
