CCW Permit - Card, Paper, or ????

My CCH is business card sized on heavy card stock. After signing I had it laminated.

We don't need a cc permit in Wyoming, but to be recognized by the states with which we have reciprocity we have our Wyoming "Concealed Firearm Permit." It's similar to our driver license. Good for five years. $45 to the state Department of Criminal Investigation (has to be a certified check for another $5). The County Sheriff is supposed to get $5 for being the go between, but our County Sheriff doesn't take the money (if he did that would be another certified check). The one hassle is the picture: it must be retaken with every renewal, and only the DOT office that issues driver licenses can take the shot. When DCI issues the permit they send it to the County Sheriff, who calls to let the permit holder know to come and turn in the old one and pick up the new one. A bit bureaucratic for Wyo.

Renewed my AL permit today. Different by counties, but in my county, the actual Sheriff his self took my photo and gave me my new permit. looks like my DL in size, laminated and has my photo on it. I used the old one last Tuesday as the photo ID to vote. Here you have the option of 1 to 5 years on a permit and anywhere in between. Legislature working its way thru to make CCP all that is necessary to purchase a new gun, no back ground check needed. Long live freedom and the 2nd Amendment .

Mine is good for 7 years and 2 months. Don't ask why, I didn't. Neither the start nor the end date is anywhere near my birthday. Everything is different here. Joe

I've got a paper permit and 2 supplemental sheets with additional handguns on it. My county has recently gone to a plastic "permit" sheet and still uses paper supplemental sheets as needed. I haven't switched. but probably should as mine is pretty well worn.

I finally gave in and surrendered my old multi sheet paper permit for the new plastic card a month or so ago. I held out for nostalgic reasons but the kind Lady county clerk pointed out that some of the info. on the paper was becoming unledgable and could become a problem soon. The process was quite quick and easy.
My Utah and Penn.permits are plastic cards too.

Paper here in komifornia, no picture but has my right thumb print and lists the guns I am allowed to carry...

All of my permits are plastic credit card size Illinois uses the picture on your drivers license on theirs .. Utah has you send a picture to them .. that they put on theirs ..

Illinois says Concealed Carry License while Utah says Concealed Firearm Permit .. neither has carry weapons listed ..
