CCW Permit - Card, Paper, or ????

Years ago, my MA non-res was paper, and for years the MA res was a bit large (plastic, I think) that required an unusually large wallet or card case. Now all of mine (MA, NH, CT & FL) are plastic and driver-license size.

My lifetime carry permit (concealed or open) was issued on
a pink paper, very thin stock as well. So i bought some
lamination sheets and did it myself. But now that dang thing
has about had it. I understand Indiana now offers a card
that's about like a Driver License card so i'm gonna check
into it and upgrade my old fraying permit.

Plastic, protected picture like a drivers license. Renewal every 5 years. You supply a new picture every time and they accept a home-printed digital picture as long as it falls within the guidelines.

I had several passport photos when I first got mine. I just keep using the same ones. I never age:D

In MI they are a plastic card like your driver's license or a credit card.

They are also called a "CPL" (Concealed Pistol License) and with it you are only authorized to carry a concealed Pistol; not any other type of weapon.

Pistols only? No revolvers?

MN is paper. My daughter is an elementary teacher with a little machine that laminates.

Works good.

My Iowa permit is a plastic card, I think it cost a little extra, otherwise my county issues a 1/2 sheet paper. My Non-resident Utah, Minnesota, and Arizona permits are all plastic cards.

WA state is a paper card, no picture and very easy to obtain. Fill out the paperwork and give them a check. No classes, no test, nothing. This is probably why not many states have reciprocity with WA. I also have a Utah permit. It's plastic, with a picture and security holograms. It requires a class and is accepted in most states in the West (except CA,CO, and OR). It's also accepted in a lot of the Eastern states. The reason I have the WA license is because I'm a resident, and to get the non resident Utah permit, I had to have the WA one. I sure wish they would simplify everything by making a national reciprocity. Can you imagine having to get a different drivers licenses to go on a cross country trip?

Laminated photo ID in Kentucky. I'm on my fifth one. First, right after we became a shall-issue state, was for three years. Since then they've been good for five. No re-qualification required and no limit on number of guns or identifying which guns you can carry.

CC only became legal here about nineteen years ago.

Louisiana's CCW is just like a driver's license size heavily laminated. Says "Concealed Handgun License" Ihave had one for going on 16 years. they used to be for 4 years and they went to a 5 year pistol permit. Frank

Guilford Co. N. C. is paper laminated when you get it and, must be signed. Good for 5 years. If you do not let it expire it's no problem to renew, no tests qualifying etc.
