I bought a "basket case" CS45 for $200. The previous owner sold it to me "as is", like in a old Glock "tupperware" case all disassembled! He claims everything is there but Id like to make sure. Any leads, links etc on a parts schematic and or exploded view of it. Back story is he told me his buddy was a certified S&W armorer & had took it apart for him to lighten up trigger, etc but before any work could be done he passed away. He had the gun for a year and maybe put about 300rnds through it but he's a BIG 1911 guy so the DA/SA wasn't his cup of tea, so to speak. Came with 8 mags, leather, and 200 Rnds of old Federal Hydra Shocks 230 Gr. I figure it will be a cool project to get up & running! Thanks for any help and suggestions!

Numrich has parts diagrams for a lot of 3rd Gens. They are all pretty much alike, so any one will help you out.

Also, there are several 3rd Gen assembly and disassembly videos on YouTube.

They helped me do some work on my 457 (which is very much like the CS45), so they should help you. If I can figure out, chances are you can as well!

If you search "S&W 3rd Generation" on Youtube, you'll find plenty of videos.

Check Numrich, Brownells, and Midway's sites. One of them should have it. There are also several YouTube videos with detailed disassembly and reassembly steps.

A CS-45 for $200! Hopefully ya get it back together and the parts are all there. If so worth a lot more than $200

The gunsmith at my favorite LGS has a Numrich schematics catalog, so check your area LGSs to see if they can reassemble it for a reasonable price or sell you the schematics. Check out the YouTube 4 vid series by Blubelly2 on Gunsmithing the Gen3s to raise your level of confidence in taking on the job or convincing yourself that writing a check is less stressful.

Thanks gents for the links and offers of assembly!
Is the CS45 closest to the 4516? There is a specific schematic for that model on Numerich /GPC website, nothing for the CS45?
