Daisy and I

Daisy and I get up around dawn most every morning and take a hike. She's 5 months old now and shaping out to be an attractive young lady. Lately it's been pretty warm so we've ventured down to the creek so she can venture out and take a swim. She's really taking a liking to our hikes to the creek.

She's pretty handy with a frisbee already and I've been working with her this week with a herding ball.

It certainly looks like Daisy is shaping up to become an outstanding doggy companion for you! In 1998, we were fortunate to find a Border Collie mix at our local humane society shelter. Bucky turned out to be highly intelligent and loving. When we took a newcomer, Joe, a pit bull mix puppy, into our household, Bucky showed him the ropes and established himself gently as the alpha dog so Joe didn't get out of line.

Bucky was very charming. Here he is asking for a belly rub. Whenever he would do this, we'd exclaim "Charming dog alert!" and the nearest person would oblige him with a vigorous belly rub. Sadly, Bucky passed away in April of 2009, and we still miss him very much.

Okay, probably the last picture in this thread but I thought it was a good one. We were taking an afternoon alongside the creek when something caught her eye on the other side. I ventured on down the path and eventually whistled for her and she had to swim back across a pool to get back to my side and then run up the shallows to catch up to me. I could tell she was having a big time by the wagging of her tail.
