Hi All,

I recently acquired a new 686 and there are a few defects on the front of the barrel. I was curious if anyone can help me find a way to clean/buff this out? I am new to stainless steel revolvers.

I tried to take a picture of what I am talking about but in a nut shell the marks are black-ish and look to be somewhat in the metal.

Thanks!

Off Topic I recently put on some new Ahrend's Cocobolo Grips. They are awesome!

Try a little bore cleaning solvent and a bronze bore cleaning brush on it.

I believe this is a good suggestion. Allow me to add that the bronze toothbrush style general cleaning brushes are more effective if you have one.

For me, both of those bronze brushes will usually leave copper colored residue on the stainless. Don't panic. It will clean off easily with a paper towel.

Best of luck, sir!
