Do you carry a revolver for CCW? Which one?

640 Pro with Buffalo Bore 158 grain 38 Special+Ps and I carry it in a Lobo Pancake or Lobo IWB, and a speedloader for a reload. This is year around carry.

I got my CCW license in the early 70's. My first two carry's were the 357mag colt python 6"barrel or a ruger police servive six in 357mag with a 2 3/4" barrel also. I also switched to a 1911a1 in 45acp time to time too. Then when the first ruger redhawks in 44mag were offered I purchased a 5 1/2" barrel and a 7 1/2" barrel. I carried either one in a shoulder holster at night on my motorcycle too. Then when the CZ82 was offered in 9mm makarov I started carrying this one more than the rest. Last year i purchased my first new S&W M58 w/4" barrel and a new S&W M57 w/6" barrel both in 41mag and both in nickel finish. Right now I switch between the CZ82 in 9mm mak and the S&W M58 in 41mag. I do perfer the 41mag for CCW carry. After all these many years of CCW carry i'm still hooked on the magnums. My new S&W M58 in 41mag sure does look sweet. While i still like the auto's there's nothing like a big revolver.

Lately I have been carrying a model 1911 in 2 of the smaller sizes, but I do occasionally switch back to a revolver. When I do it is a model 19 w/ 21/2" bbl or a 2" model 36.

640 no dash, Federal 147 +p+, D.M. Bullard IWB @ 3:30. Extra five on a strip alongside the moneyclip :)

Here in Florida, I carry my 642 loaded with Glaser Safety Slugs in my front right pocket with a NAA .22 folding grip as a backup. In colder climes I carry my Glock 30 in .45

4" Model 19 if I can dress enough to conceal it, otherwise it's a Bodyguard 38.

Although I normally carry a CZ75, quite often I revert to a 4" 29-2 in a Simply Rugged pancake holster. Back when I was a cop I carried a 4" mod 66 and have always been a wheelgun lover.

I've lately been carrying a 686 3" in a Galgo summer comfort holster. Yes it's an L frame, but since it's winter and I wear a coat over everything, it conceals very well and comfortably. I also like to carry a model 60 and occasionally (well in the warmer months) I carry a 642 in the front pocket.

Depends on the circumstances but I feel like I can't go wrong with a Springfield Armory 1911-A1 in .45 ACP in a Kramer IWB. It's my old IPSC pistol so it'll chamber anything I put in the clip. A 60's vintage Model 10-5 2" in a Gould-Goodrich belt scabbard works well for hanging around and while working (thank God for self-employment). I'm hoping to get a Kramer rig for my 1908 Pocket Hammerless .380 soon. Might be nice for those rare social occasions. And what the heck, the Colt 3rd. gen. SAA in 45Colt is fun too; after all, this is New Mexico.

I carry my 2 and 1/2 Inch CA 44 spl Bulldog revolver a primary carry but also my S&W 642-1 38 Special, airweight in a pocket holster in a front pocket as well. I carry two speed loaders for each. Extra ammo in my vehicle for both. If dress does not permit me on rare occasion I might only carry my 38 Spl. Both loaded with hollow points. I do not own any SA's, only revolvers.

I assume this being the S&W forum revolver section most people here carry a revolver for CCW, but perhaps not.

What do you carry; revolver or auto? If revolver, what is your primary carry?
For me, a carry gun has to meet the balance of "enough gun for the circumstance I am likely to be in" vs it's ease/comfort of carry. A big double stack Semi auto 45 is worthless if left at home in the safe because the thought of carry was tiring.
That said, I've always used one flavor of J frame or another as my primary carry. The one I seem to have settled on is a bobbed 360PD with CT grips stuffed with 38+P and carried in a easy/fast to attach Lobo snap slide OWB holster..
On the rare case I switch to a semi auto , it's a BG380 for pocket carry.

I often carry a 442 in my front pocket. I have also been known to carry an SP-101 in both my pocket or crossdraw on a belt. The largest revolver I have carried (also crossdraw) was a 3" 65 that I regrettably sold. That was a great gun, I would like to get another one some day .

A 642 is always in my pocket with +p's. But beside me in my truck my mod 66 4 inch is right there.
