do you carry at home?

No real crime here so I don't feel the need. that said there is almost always a loaded piece within a step or two, or maybe several depending on the room. wife has her stuff, I have mine and we have to do a sweep before the grandkids come over.

Not usually. Got handy access all over. No kids, and the four paw alarm system is always on.

Had a security system sales pitch tossed at me the other day. "Even if you have dogs", says the salesman, " if someone wants to get to your home they are just going to kill them". So I tell them "if they have the cods to come down my driveway with those dogs in the yard, they deserve whatever they can get". Of course what the salesman doesn't know is there is someone home and armed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So... Whatever they get isn't going to be pleasant. Especially if they kill my dogs.

In the house, I'm not always carrying. I do have my daily CCW on me at times, but generally I remove my carry gun when I get home.

However, I am never more than 15 feet from an accessible firearm. If my wife and I are netflixing it for the evening, like tonight, I'll often choose a handgun to keep on the end table.

Outside, however, I'm armed. 100% of the time.

I live on 200 acres of woods. This year especially, we've had a lot of issues with coyotes, bear, and other unsavory critters. So when I go outside to cut grass or walk the dog, I'm armed. Most of the time with my 681 loaded with potent .357 Mag.

Here it is along with my EDC. :)

Yup, I carry at and in my home.

I live in a rural county in Texas that has an average of about 15 people per square mile, over roughly 700sq.mi. Actually that number is a bit high because of all the folks who live in the major towns (no cities) and that drives that average number higher. City folk just would not understand.

Elastic waist (Comfy) pants worn at home but a
Revolver within reach of every room! Also no children left at home

Generally within arms reach, always within three paces.

There's no way around it, someone trying to get into my home will make noise and my dogs can hear a mouse run across the deck from inside. I'm ok with not having it on me in the home.

I carry at all times when legal. If it's not on me it's within reach at home.

My wife and I both carry from the time we get dressed until the handguns go on the nightstands when we go to bed. What we carry and whether it is open or concealed depends on where we spent most of our time that day.

If I'm dressed, I'm carrying. Hiding places? I don't care how slick you think your hiding places are, bad guys and kids will find them.

No, but a loaded hand gun of significant caliber in every room. Besides, my killer, rabid slavering attack trained Yorkies are certainly a major deterrent to any fool stupid enough to invade their space.

I drop an LCP in my pants pocket in the morning and it stays there until I go to bed.

The notion of going in and out of the home arming and disarming myself throughout the day just doesn't work for me. Besides, the LCP carries as easy as my wallet, unnoticed.

I think what happens with a lot of folks is they walk out the door without their carry gun. It's just to the mail box... just a walk down the street... just a short trip to the store... just garden work... on and on and on... If life was so predictable I would't carry at all.

Just yesterday morning a good friend of mine was attacked as he walked to his pickup to go to work. He leaves before daylight and his assailant knew this and was lying in wait for him with a baseball bat. He managed to get his J frame out of his pocket after being blindsided with the bat and the attacker ran off before he could get a shot off. He received 26 staples on his head and was sent home. The attacker was later apprehended. He is an ex con with a drug problem. He knew the victim and knew he had assets. A female accomplice later told investigators the original plan was to kill the victim and his wife and clean out their house.

To answer the original question, I open carry a 686 + while riding the tractor, four wheeler, or riding mower. We have meth heads and snakes around here and I don't like either one. As for what's inside, if you try to come in, you win what's behind door number one.
