Do you carry more than one gun frequently?

Pretty much always carry two as my 642 is so light and I'm normally around people who I've seen shoot but don't carry all the time or they are just shy of being old enough to carry, so I have it as a spare for them if need be.

Wow just did the math.......I've had my concealed Carry Permit for 37 years.

One gun w/ one reload ....... 95% of the time. For the past 25 years that's been mostly a 3913 and one extra mag. for 16 rds. (sometimes a PC 6906 Shorty 9 and extra 15rd mag. for 28 rounds)

[Should I admit to a 915 and 2 spare mags in my vehicle and an extra 20rd box of 9mm.?? NO no reason for you to know........ woops did I just say that out loud?]

In Penn's Woods a 3" 66 +1-2 speed-loaders and ammo wallet...24-30rds. Often have a CZ FS carbine in .22mag or .223 along for Varmints.

One most of the time. The only exception is when we take a car trip, then a second revolver goes into the center console just in case. You never know what might happen on the road, and this way my wife can be armed if necessary.

For me I carry a primary 100% of the time, which can be any number of choices :) and always have a NAA Mini 22LR deep in my pocket. I have always had an NAA Mini 22LR and probably always will. It serves a purpose of DEEEEP concealment and certainly can work in a limited role.

Usually two J Frames...640-1 and 337ti. I find the New York reload easiest under pressure. Also, I like having two guns in different places on the body. That is usually IWB and on the ankle. That is an old habit going back to my cop days.

Been carrying legally since 1976. Every day. Back in the 1900s, about 85 if my memory serves I was corresponding with Evan Marshall. He was a Detroit Detective and wrote 3 books about handgun stopping power. He sent a letter on DPD letterhead that said...If you ever leave home and think that before you return, you may need a gun, TAKE 2! I am 67 now and have from that day to this followed his advise .

Normally two--one on the belt one in the pocket. Been trying the 'Two Gun Pete' thing lately, and like it.
Like some have so eloquently stated, I've never needed a second gun; heck, never needed a first gun--for self defense purposes, anyway (since retiring, that is). But it seems I'm detecting a pervasive attitude; something like 'Since I've never needed it yet, I'm probably never going to; so a baby gun and no reloads will do. It makes me 'feel' protected.'

As to when I carry [however many guns/rounds], I only carry in those times and places where the possibility exists that I may need it...... Acebow

I usually carry only one, but when riding my motorcycle, I carry an LCP in my right, inside jacket pocket. I'm right handed, and I just thought it would be a good idea to be able to get to a gun and still operate the throttle. If I went for my primary gun, which is IWB on the right side, I would not be able to ride with throttle.

Just one, on my person. Like so many others I have a dedicated "car gun" that lives somewhere in my car. I also keep two reloads in the car.

One, usually a G23 or Shield .40... No reload. I figure if what is in the gun won't solve my problem, a reload probably won't either.

I gotta wonder how you fellas carrying 2/+ guns, knives, lights, batons and multiple reloads do it. You wearing load bearing gear/suspenders? Cargo pants? Manpurse? Where do you keep your keys/wallet/phone with all that gear?

Currently, I have the XD9's in LH and RH Don Hume 721 ( I think) OWB holsters, a spare mag in a Blackhawk mag pouch behind the left one, and a snubby in the left pants pocket. Ride and hide fine, with a nylon 'instructor' belt, under a one-size-larger T- or polo-type shirt. Far as I know, nobody has caught on. On the rare occasion somebody hugs me, I just make sure they don't reach around my waist--although one affectionate little 4-year-old boy at church once ran up and grabbed me in a little-kid hug, and smacked his head on one of the guns. He just looked confused, rubbed his head, and ran off to hug somebody else.

One thing I need to figure out--in my state, if LEO wants to hold your gun during a contact, they have the authority to do so (in my day, it was the folding Buck knives in the belt pouch). So, if an officer tells me to hand over my gun while he writes me a ticket or whatever, do I ask him 'Which one?', or just hand him one, or tell him about all three? I dunno..... Acebow

I usually carry 2. A pistol on my belt (concealed) a spare mag and a J Frame in the car - secured. I figure if I have to use all of that I'm in deep do-do and I need to leave - quickly, if possible. The J frame is insurance if the pistol malfunctions (which it probably won't) but rather have it and not need it.

Now that I'm retired, not usually. When traveling, I usually have a spare in my luggage or vehicle. Most of the time, the primary gun is a Glock 26 with a Glock 19 in the luggage (or the other way around), or a Glock 30/21 combination. I carry my 340 M&P around town, as well as a Shield 9mm or Kahr PM9.

Shield 9 or Kimber 45 for EDC, full size 1911 / 45 with extra mags in the car lock box.

I carry two any time that I leave town. Usually a full size (Glock 19 or Beretta 92) and a pocket gun (sig 938 or S&W 442). If there is a situation where I have to reload, I would rather just draw a new weapon.

Runs to the grocery store I stick with one.
