Has anyone here seen one of the NJ drones? I can hardly believe there is still no information about their source or purpose. I just saw a statement from Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ) in which he says he has convincing information that they are being launched from an Iranian “Mothership” offshore. I can’t see how that is possible.

I saw the Van Drew interview on fox. Harris Faulkner was a little taken back by what he said. Apparently some are as big as an SUV…… I’ve got a 10 gauge and several boxes of 3 1/2” Turkey Loads. I’ve declared a no fly zone in my little corner of the world.

My Wife has lifelong Friends in that area, they also advised the Drones are SUV size and that if You light them up, they go dark…The fact that they have NOT been intercepted and shot down to ascertain what they’re carrying and what Country launched them is unacceptable.

Distance ? ? ?

Depending on distance - SLUGS might be better choice.

A falling slug will have a lower velocity than a 30 caliber rifle slug.

The things are lit up like neon signs when they don't have to be.
For years now, about $30 would get you a starlight capable FPV camera. I've operated drones with such cameras after dark with impunity, nearly matching the daytime flight experience.
what we have here is probably more of a hoax flavored stunt preying on public ignorance and fueled by a media industry that'd sensationalize a tube of toothpaste.

Meanwhile some cellar dweller is likely laughing his backside off from his moms basement at all this publicity.

I saw the same production .... some are the size of the HOOD of an SUV, per that interview.
These things are designed to attract attention, and they are doing a fine job of it.
Quite frankly, I have a few airframes that I could use to create absolute havoc and terror in any residential area.
they are nearly silent, and virtually invisible under cover of darkness .... exactly the opposite of what's being reported.

Good chance these drones and the balloons from a few months ago are Chinese, and pro-China factions in the Pentagon and our civilian government are slow-walking any inquiries about them.
They should have been shot down within an hour or less if they could not have been identified as US military.

I don’t think many cellar dwellers have the financial resources to invest in a bunch of drones, some of which are rumored to be the size of a car.
The navigation lights could have been added to make them seem more benign. Hiding in plain sight.

Geez, before 911 even, we would take dry cleaner bags, fluff up enough medical cotton to fill one puffy and light the bottom up. It would drift up rapidly giving off a red-orange glow before bursting into a fireball. Folks would call the cops from all over the neighborhood and "report the invasion." Not much changed, just the "technological sophistication." Joe

I think I remember that in our border state Idaho any drone above your property is fair game.

The size of THE HOOD OF a car
That's what the source told the media, who then sensationalized it.
Be that as it may, the cost isn't necessarily as elevated as the common man might be lead to believe.
The light pattern looked a lot like a typical flying wing , not unlike the Flitetest versa wing or Kraken.... Both born of dollar tree foam board

On talk radio they were talking about this and played a recording of some government mouth piece saying that there are no drones and no Iranian ship off shore. As for me I know nothing.

That still seems to be the information coming from the Pentagon spin factory tonight. Was also a report that a USCG vessel was tracked by between 12 to 30 drones. That seems to be a lot of drones to be controlled by some kid from his basement.

Whatever they are, they need to be refueled / recharged after each "mission". One report said that they are coming from the east (from the Atlantic).

That being the case the US Navy needs to be in constant surveillance and shoot the suckers down as soon as they go airborne. No threat to anyone on land then.

With our magnificent ability with satellite photos, it is unimaginable that we can't see where they are coming from. It is simply an American crisis and we are being lied to. Or,,,,,,it is OUR govmt. doing the drones.
