Ebay fraud.

Sorry, I'm going to add one more comment. I looked at the eBay ad one more time and noticed something.

Respectfully, but the price was just TGTBT "To Good To Be True"

I love a good price, I'm sure we all do. But if I see "Original Colt Python" wood grips $100, I don't buy them without being skeptical at first. First thing that goes through my mind is those crappy asian knock offs floating around.

But, the seller is the one in the wrong! He shouldn't lie and say that Magpul has stuff made in China. Buyers read that, think it makes sense and trust the info. The more his rating drops, the faster he will be out of business.

I think, if we all report this guy.
On the right hand side just below the picture, is a " Report Item" link

Then select "Copyright and Trademark"
Then "Counterfeit...."
Then "Counterfeit fake..."

For a brief description, I put "This seller claims Magpul items are made in China, they are not. They are all USA made items."

Looked at the auction listing. All kinds of red flags.

3-9 business days to process.
15-23 days to receive item.
LENGTH described as 150CM.
Last paragraph where they explain the difference between Magpul and Magpul PTS.

Sorry this happened buddy. I would not have bought from this seller. But I guess you never know.

This information was not included in the original. Didn't see the shipping time until I got the "tracking" number.

How is this a flag? Are slings not normally this length? My Blackhawk sling is 180cm.

See post #10.

Not finding fault with you buddy.

I think you were intentionally duped. Hope it works out.

I have filed one complaint on ebay. I ordered 2 mags for my Remington 541-X and only one was shipped. Within a couple of hours, the seller apologized and I received the second one in less than a week. People make mistakes. This seller fixed it as quickly as he could and I put that in my review.

No, I don't agree with this. I've bought 137 items on Ebay without a single problem. I'm certainly not a power user, but as long as I've read the ads carefully, never had an issue.

In this case the seller flat out lied and changed the listing after I bought it. It's impossible to read something that isn't there. Had the seller listed all the info in the first place, I would have passed it by.

Time will tell the tale. We'll see what Ebay does.

I've been an eBay member since 1999, and while the majority of listings are accurate, there are problems that crop up.

Some products lend themselves to eBay, some do not. I recently bought a old book through eBay, a history of a WWII 8th Air Force bomber group. The ad was filled with photos, and the seller had 100% feedback. Buying a gun part advertised at a too-low price from an overseas seller? Neither safe nor necessary, in my humble opinion...

You talk about reading the ads carefully...who wants to have to go over an ad word by word to assess whether it's fraudulent or not? It's much easier -- and safer -- just to go to Brownell's or Midway and simply buy what you want.

There ya go. There are some bad sellers out there but the buyer has some responsibility, too. That feedback score would have made me immediately hit the back button and move on.

He claims the product is in Florida.

Of course, but it wasn't that low until three people gave feedback AFTER I made a purchase. When I purchased it was 100%. Since I purchased, he's received two negatives and a neutral. I find it interesting that both negatives are for the fraudulent Magpul slings.

I wonder if it will actually show up?

He may have added this later but he is still within the time frame for delivery:

"Once item is ordered it takes 3 to 9 business days to process, and 15 to 23 days to receive the item itself. I usually note in my listings “It takes 15 to 35 business days to receive package”

Yes, according to the additional info that was added after I purchased it. However, according to the shipping confirmation I received, it was to be delivered by the 13th. It still hasn't shown up.

I just received an email from the seller through Ebay. This is the first communication of any kind from this seller. He claims that I tried to cancel the sale. I did not. I have to wait three more days before I can ask Ebay to take action.

I've had two "problem" purchases on Ebay. One was my fault for not reading the description, one was the seller's fault for selling a *** manual for the Ithaca 37. In the first case, I just tossed the product because it was cheap and useless. In the second I left a negative feed back due to inferior quality of the printing of the manual. It was clear that someone had just scanned in some old, poor quality pictures from an original owners manual and the added some text.

The seller contacted me and asked me to revise my comment because I hadn't contacted him to resolve it. Since his offer was to send me another inferior copy of the manual I declined.

On the other hand, I just received a NOS Aker OWB holster for my 3913 from an Ebay seller. Still new in the bag, not a mark on it. Considering how hard they are to find, it was a great deal.

I've had a lot more of those over the past 15 or so years than bad deals.

The key to Ebay is to read very carefully through the entire listing and ask questions if you are unsure of something.

On 15 April, 2014, I purchased a Magpul MS3 rifle sling from a seller on Ebay. The seller listed the sling location as Florida. I was suspicious as soon as I saw it was shipping by China Post. I contacted the seller and asked why it was coming from China and received no response. At that point I was sure I had been duped. Still, I waited until the promised latest delivery date passed; 13 May. The sling has not shown up yet so, I left a negative feedback.

Today I opened a case with Ebay to see if I can receive a refund. I also tried to report the seller to Ebay as having a fraudulent listing. Since the seller is still there and still has the same item listed, I can only assume that Ebay hasn't received my complaint or doesn't care.

I've been dealing with Ebay for more than 15 years. In all that time, I've never left a negative feedback. I've never had to. Every item I've bought has been accurately represented.

To be sure, I called Magpul today. They verified that all their products are made in the USA and there is no reason for any legitimate Magpul product to come from China.

Whenever I buy something over the internet, I always consider that I might get taken. I ask myself, "Can I afford to lose this money?" If the answer isn't "yes" then I don't buy it. So, I'm not really concerned with receiving a refund. It wasn't a lot of money and I can chalk it up to experience. What I'm more interested in is to see if Ebay will take care of this seller so he won't defraud more people with fake junk.

Anyone here ever open a case with Ebay? Not receive an item?

I have had several cass opened on ebay all aganst the same photo sellers whom they did absolutely nothing about. Said scum is still selling fakes on eay and under several usernames too.The jerk even has an Amerian working for him.:mad:Anyway, ebay is for the sellers only--not the buyers.

A funny addition. Because the sling I wanted/needed never showed up, I ordered another from a different Ebay seller on 13 May. That one showed a delivery date of 19 May. Well, it showed up today.

You win some you lose some. So far I've only had the one bad experience. Time will tell if it gets resolved.
