I'm looking for suggestions for a .357 SD load for my 3" M66 . Since the gun is somewhat rare I want something more than a +P .38 but not something that's gonna beat on the gun in practice or make the wife flinch . Probably in the 130 to 158 grain range .
Thanks,
Nick

The Speer .357 Short Barrel load, or perhaps one of the heavier loaded +P .38s (Buffalo Bore) seems to fit your criteria.

I like the Remington Golden Saber, it's loaded to their old medium velocity 125gr load at 1250fps. The one other is the Winchester SilverTip 145gr. but it's been hard to find also.

you might look at Buffalo Bore Tactical Short Barrel Lower Recoil Low Flash 357 Magnum Pistol and Handgun Ammo

In my 2 1/2" 19, I've always used 145 grain WW Silvertips. I can't remember what they chronoed @ but I do remember I was satisfied with the numbers. They are VERY accurate in my 19.
