Favorite Holiday Bourbon

With craft brewers having become a trend in recent years, my holiday go-to is Original Appalachian Whiskey. Distilled, barreled, aged, and bottled just 30 miles north of me. It's a labor of love for them, one I bought myself last year is hand labeled by the bottler, Batch 15, Aged 7 years.

If it's not available, I'll grab a Bulleit.

Have you tried the apple pie?

Buffalo Trace. I bought a case of the 1.5 L bottles when I retired in '16. Still have 3.5 bottles of it.

I tried others, so it's my year-round bourbon of choice.

I never acquired a taste for liquor. As a dyed in the wool beer guy I will gladly raise a proper pint to all who imbibe in their chosen creature comforts be they liquid or otherwise.

Cheers.

Glad to see the mention of beer. Now I can cast my Czechvar in to the ring.

That's an easy one . Although I currently have a few bottles open that I'm enjoying my Favorite one is Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. If there's anyone here who hasn't tried it yet I would highly recommend it. You will Not be disappointed!

Good choice, it's one of my favorites.
All the hype about Buffalo Trace a couple of years ago, couldn't find it anywhere at home. I was on vacation stayed at a hotel somewhere in Tennessee, liquor store across the street, went over to check it out and they had cases of Buffalo Trace, $23 a bottle. So, I bought 3 bottles, one of the worst (to me) bourbons I'd even tried. Gave away 2 bottles of it.
The special holiday pick will be one of the Markers Mark Limited Releases or Private Selections. They are all a little different due to the stave selections for the secondary aging.
And if the son in law asks nicely, a pour of Jack Daniels Sinatra..

Well , if you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend Makers The Heart Release. It's absolutely delicious.

my favorite Holiday Bourbon? That would have to be Holladay Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Strength.. from a Missouri distillery... spectacular if you can find it.. I am currently enjoying an Old Fashioned made with Ancient Age Bourbon... it's inexpensive and made by Buffalo Trace with the same mashbill is my understanding.. but so many choices...

Bought some for the son in law for his Old fashion's.
My father drank Yellowston B&Bond.

I can only have a glass of red wine now and then, due to my med's.

Markers Mark is the best bourbon I have ever tried :)

Basil Hayden was a premium brand 20 years ago before the bourbon craze started. It still is, but at a reasonable price ( about $35 for 750 ml)

Weller wheated bourbon is a great, smooth bourbon, but has become so popular in SC that it is no longer available unless you have special contacts. My friend brings me a few bottles from Kansas when he returns from hunts. I have found Green River wheated bourbon to be as good as Weller, again about $35.
