With all the recent attention given to the venerable 45 a.c.p. cartridge in revolvers, I decided to take stock.

Like a junkie looking back on a run ,I did not realize I had gone so far.

First ; Nframeitis. Second ; Kframeoholism. Third ; speedloadersclerosis.

And now the latest diagnosis ; O.C.M.D.,

Obsessive Compulsive Moonclip Disorder.

Who else do you know with 136 moonclips loaded with 818 rounds lying around?
I was up till 2a.m. loading 200gr. l.s.w.c.s over 4.8 grs. of 231, to fill the bucket.
Heaven forbid we run out of ammunition.

The moonclips ,arranged just so, for your viewing enjoyment.

The revolvers that shoot them.
1950 Target ,1955 Target ,model 25-2 ,625-2 model of 1988 , and Mountain Gun.

Need a 3"er pretty badly ,don'tcha know.

I usually have 816rds (how'd you get 818?) of 45acp and 816rds of 10mm clipped and ready to go. I put 17 clips, for 102rds, in a ziplock. I shoot 408 of one or the other weekly, so on range day I just put 4 baggies in my ammo box, and off I go.

Allen, you are an artist and you made my day.

The South Florida chill should have brought you out of the sun. I'm done with K 2.5 and 3inch itis
but I could be interested in a 3 inch 45 ACP if you ever want a FTF.

However, do not post your great pictures of your collections again! You, sir, are the cause of many of the itises forum members suffer from.

Ok - post away. (Calling the therapist now).:D

Pinky ,408 rounds weekly? Dude ,you are my hero.
I burn 100 or 2, but just can't muster much more.

Speaking of pinkies ,I was in bare feet because it was 78* out today.

Funny what will sneak into a photograph unaware.

Regards , Allen

Allen, I believe I live farther south in FL than you do, and have now worn shoes and socks 16 days in January, which is both my monthly and annual record. Talk about cold toes! My weekly drive to the range is 198.5 miles RT, so I need to make it count. Charlie

Nope,

I won't go into all the details, but I was laughing until I realized I had 125 moons myself.

All loaded up.

For one 625-3.

Personally I do not see that you have a problem...

OK maybe one, you need a 325 Night Guard for a light handy 45 ACP...

However I do have a question.

In my 44 Mag, over the years, the wife and I have used hundreds of Speer shotshells for snakes and small edible game.

But in my 325, when shooting a snake here at my place, and in later teasting they seem to lock up the cylinder, much like some loads would do in a 22 Jet.

Have you had any problems with them in your 45 ACP's?

In response to NE4502s question;
Ity would be my estimate that the 45 a.c.p. shotshell as it opens at the end sets itself in the cylinder and is pushed back against the recoil shield. Locking up the cylinder from turning.
I have speer 45 shotshells and will try a couple at the range and see.

That's a heavy load of loaders:eek:! Need a 2nd and 3rd belt to carry 'em all!
Ever heard of O.C.C.T.D? .....
Obsessive-compulsive-crooked-toe disorder :D

You know, if MSNBC ever did a story on you, they'd call your stuff an "Arsenal" and your house a "Compound".
Keith Olbermann would faint dead away.Hey, that's not a bad idea, invite him over!

I found a few rounds of the factory Remington 45 ACP Shot Cartridge.

They have @650 of #12 shot.

I put them in some 1/2 Moon clips, and will try them in the 325 when I see a snake.

Since their case is shorter maybe they will not have as much set back and lock up the cylinder.
