Florida Assault Weapons Registry Would Come at a Cost

Do you support infringement of all your rights or just 2A.

Give a little here give a little there.

Oh its just...

Before you know it you've given um everything and you've got nothing.

They will keep chipping away until it finally crumbles.

Like the song says

Dont know what ya got til its gone.

I signed into the forum just so I could "like" this post. If any body here thinks the anti gunners will be happy with any "reasonable, common sense" gun law, they are fooling themselves. I defy anyone to show me any state in the Union that has passed any kind of gun law and not had the anti gunners back for more in the next few years. That anti gunners will not be happy until no one in this country has a gun. Then they will start after knives. Don't believe me? Look at England.
I agree that there are certain people that should not have guns. I think if society thinks you are so dangerous that you should not have a gun, you should be locked up. I think that the idea that someone is fine and can be allowed out on the streets as long as he can't legally buy a gun is crazy. If you think that any kind of gun law will keep criminals from getting a gun, you have not learned a thing from the history of failed laws in this country. I am thinking of Prohibition and drug laws.

I got ten bucks says this ballot initiative won't even come close to getting on the Florida ballot in November of 2020.

To solve the mass shooting problems we should just take CNN off the air all together … they sure are making me crazy! lol …

Who do we call to make that happen?

I'm still looking for the exemption in the U.S. Constitution that says government may declare anything it pleases to be an "assault weapon" and that it may ban such declared items. England must regret not playing that card.

I'm going to quote something I said back in June on the other thread here about this same issue. So I won't have to type it all out again. Changed a few words, though.

Here goes:

Keep in mind, the election isn't until November 3, 2020. Seventeen Fourteen months from now.

So Florida gun owners have seventeen fourteen months to mount their counter offensives to this ballot initiative. You have seventeen fourteen months to repeatedly contact your representatives in the legislature and Governor DeSantis, himself. Anti-gun groups in Florida have tried these types of initiatives over the past three years, and none of them have succeeded in getting on the ballot.

After doing a few searches, I'm not seeing anything coming from Florida gun owners except talking and ranting on gun forums and doomsday predictions on other gun forums and gun blogs.

As I said, you have seventeen fourteen months. You have the same rights and access to representatives and processes as the anti-gunners have.

But Florida gun owners seem okay with just sorta sitting around behind their keyboards and complaining about it on the Internet. Why is that? Some of you are even here arguing with other forum members about why they do or don't "support" the Second Amendment, or actually trying to define or quantify the word "support". Why are you wasting your time doing that? Sniping at each other and ranting on this forum isn't doing you one bit of good. You aren't going to change one single thing that way.

We see media reports of anti-gun/anti-NRA protests being held in cities on an almost daily basis. People marching and holding signs...even little kids who can't even read what's on the sign they're carrying (shame on their parents). Why don't we see media reports of large pro-gun/pro-NRA marches (minus the little kids)? Get up from the computer and do something.

Well, anyway...if you're a Florida gun owner, do what you're supposed to be doing. Talking about it here isn't it. I wish you luck.

Disclaimer: I don't live in Florida.
