Got a call from my wife's doctor today asking if I would help one of her patients. Lady has a bunch of shooting items/guns etc...Anyway...The gun seriously doesn't look to be fired. It is a 19-3 4 inch blued with target stocks no white outline or red ramp. Box docs tools advertising and receipt too I think included. She has a few more unfired guns including a Kimber of Oregon BGR Super America stocked by Len Brownell. Beautiful rifle. She also said she has a stainless S&W 22 she wants to sell... her husband died recently and she is going to be moving. I bought all the reloading items today. mostly shotshell. Wants me to make an offer on the 19-3. Can anyone give me a close estimate on the 19...don't want to rip her off but want to get a fair price. . Her doc said she has another patient with guns to sell. I sold all the doctor's guns too. She used to hunt deer quite a bit. Anybody need 10,000 once fired 12 ga shotshells??

The figure of $800 comes to mind for the model 19; probably three times its original selling price but less than what it would go for in an online bidding war.
Around here, in Central Va., unfired (outside the factory) with the box, papers and such? Probably be pushing a grand pretty close. Run of the mill 19's run about $750 or so.
I agree with Murphydog. $800 or so seems fair. the 4" guns are more common it seems.
I think 8 bills is fair for you both. 4 inch is very common, though it sounds like that one is in great condition.

I agree that $800 would be a figure that I would feel good about myself if I were buying it in that situation to help a widow out.
Going back up today. Going to offer about 750-800. It's ptobably not a gun I will keep...I'd never shoot it. Want to see the other guns. I have too much stuff to get rid of myself...

I just bought a 19-2 6" $850.00 and a 19-3 4" $1,000.00 on Gunbroker last week. Both have box, papers, tools, and in mint condition. For me on old revolvers it is all about condition and paper work. Not interested in a pawn shop war horse.
Got to look yesterday and made an offer on 2 guns so we'll see by tomorrow. The gun was shipped supposedly 1971 Ser 2K 336xx. She also has a model 63 M1557XX that I don't think has been shot since the factory. It is tight to open the cyl. Square buttBox etc etc. That is the one I'd really like to have...I have a 4 inch 19-3 and a 4 inch 66-1. I made an offer on both of them...If I get the 19...I'll probably trade/sell it. I have 6 357s here. I would rather have shooting guns anyway...the 63 would get shot
