Colorado voters - preserving rights

Voters in Colorado successfully recalled two State Senators who favored tough gun control legislation.

Hopefully this message hits home with all elected officials who fail to exercise the will of the people.

The antis spent $3 mil
Our side spent $.5 mil and the taxpayers are stuck with the tab for the recall and resent it.
This should send a strong message (I hope)

It is heartning to see that there are still enough sane people left in CO to override the liberal bias concentrated on the eastern slope from Boulder down through Colorado Springs. The balance of the state may be thinly populated but once organized and stirred up they vote. Congratulations on a job well done. This should be a lesson for all of us. Bitching and moaning about the status quo may make us feel better but only by voting can we really be heard. CO is proof that it still works.

Bloomburg and a California Anti contributed a BUNDLE.

For now the Colorado voters have spoken.

The media SPIN MASTERS will speak next.

Congratulations to the people of Colorado! You did not see mention of this story on the MSN website. The National News agencies will play this down as inconsequential but I would think all liberals should be contemplating its meaning.
Being from NY I was especially happy to read that even Democrats were very unhappy and skeptical about billionaire Bloomberg's involvement with funding the incumbents fight. A lot of us in upstate NY feel the same way.
God bless the free people of Colorado. Now go after the law itself.

The sides are evenly matched running down the front range.Denver proper and Boulder have a liberal bias within the city limits. The burbs become more conservative further out. This is a great victory, but looking at what's happened on the coasts as they've grown more crowded....

Good for the Colo. voters.....It goes to show you that prejudgeing Colo. voters is a strange endevor, considering they voted in Legal Pot. Then threw out anti gun proponents.. Denver and Boulder go one way the rest of the state seems to go another way...????

Just saw the NY times report YEAH!!!!! WOOT!!!! What a great way to start the day... and a great tribute to the real Spirit of this country and our beloved heroes... our Military, Fire , Police and those many souls who died, some fighting to the end... on this somber day. Huge congrats to the free people of Colorado.

Not really that strange,it comes from a libertarian mindset i.e.quit wasting all that money on potheads.Less government, more freedom.

Colorado

As a former resident. I applaud the people of Colorado. Good job!

Hard to say if the political will is there. The big one is the nics check on private sales, which,I suspect they won't give up without a huge fight.

In the late70's there was a bar and resturant just outside of Denver limits, very popular. My old memory seems to remember a wooden water wheel attached...Bartenter named Jeff, Was a hang out during the stock show ,for everybody, had a great keyboard artist and was owned by a couple from (I think Michigan) I do remember they gave the cabbies free burgers..Needless to say the Cabbies brought the place a lot of customers..You could see almost anybody in the place at any given time..Greg Morton was a semi regular, Larry Mahan spent more than a few nights there...I think the owners sold out and went to Michigan. I for some reason can't remember the name of it..I do know the bartender opened a place between Denver and the Springs......Place was very popular as was the place in Denver.....Do you recall it, and if you do what ever was the results of it's exsistence....darned my mind now 74 is forgetfull......

If the name comes to you post it please.....As I get older I look back and smile. funny you always remember some stuff and other stuff is prioritized by the failing mind. It was a great place full of fond memories.....Just can't remember the darn name.....That was back when even the Denver Airport was in Denver...Imagine that!
