Two feet in this storm (in addition to the almost 1 foot a few days ago), and it's still coming down.

Someone did a nice job on the driveway there Barb! Just looking at the weather radar you all in PA are getting it. I'm just across the border and it's been snowing, not real heavy, but steadily since early this morning. Drifting will be a problem this weekend. This is our driveway a week or so ago so we have a good base for the drifts now. :D

Got a foot and two' drifts, still coming down. Just got done
with the second run with the Toro and re-opening the plowed-in driveway.

We've had about 160 inches since it started in deer season last fall.
About normal for this area of the U.P.

Two days ago we got about 10 inches in 24 hours, or so. We all just moved it around, as usual. The sun has been strong for the last two days and some is melting off the truck and falling off the roof of the house.

My great uncle always used to say that here we had,
"Nine months of winter and three months of bad sledding."
The older I get the more he seems to have been right.

None here, thank goodness.
Barb....Does Sadie like all that snow?

Barb,
I am in Southern California and those pictures are absoutely amazing. I don't see how you guys make it thru the winter. What I was wondering is what is the temperature there? And your dog seem to be having a great time for sure. In San Diego right now it is 68 degrees with high clouds, rain forcast for this evening and tomorrow. It is like you are in a whole different world there, do you like it? It looks very pretty to me in your pictures, but I bet living in it is a whole different story, especially this winter. Take care and stay warm.

You bragging or complaining? :D

It must be bragging because after clearing the porch and the back stairs and deck, and 4 beers and 2 shots of vodka later, I'm no longer complaining. :D

Sadie loves the snow. We just came back from the neighbor's house down the road where we walked the snowblower to help him clear the walkway and she had a ball playing with their Golden Retriever - at least until the bucket loader crushed their ball. :p

Barb I hear ya. Been shoveling all day, time to go for a few. Looks like it should warm up next week in PA. Thank God!

The closest I've ever seen snow like that was when I was in Norfolk,Va. when I was in the Navy in 1967 and we got 12". However, we normally only see a light dusting around here every 5-6 years. We've had three this season with another possible for late Monday or early Tuesday. The schools have had two snow days and I had one last week. Texas is becoming a "snow belt." Something is going on and it ain't global warming. Al Gore is an idiot.

I was wondering about you, Barb, and other members in the Northeast. Good to know you still have plenty of power and alcohol.

Ah, global warming at its finest. :p

Extreme weather events like this one are not at all incongruent with global warming. Global warming is global. Weather is local.

The truth is this kind of winter is exactly what we ought to expect from increased global warming. As the oceans and lakes warm, more moisture enters the global atmosphere, which results in more rain and snow in many places where rain and snow may, in recent history, be seasonally expected to fall.

I just wish algore would bring his private jet down my street and melt off these damn piles of snow so we can see!!!!!
