Guns that you shouldn't have let go

Yes. I've sold quite a few that I should have kept but none that were extra special or irreplaceable.

My major regrets are a few opportunities I passed on, 952 and 945 to be sure! My main regret is having too many firearms that haven't been shot in 20-30 years and just taking up space. I can say the same about tools, cameras and some other stuff. We get this way as we get older and can see beyond the horizon!

Smiles,

I had a minty Smith-Corona 1903a3 that i'd like to have back, as my mom and dad gave it to me one Christmas. Still in the grease. For some reason it wouldnt hit the broadside of a barn and i sold it. I'm sure it was just my poor technique.

A Ruger 30 carbine and a 30 carbine, I think made by Union, maybe. Thought I needed to trade up to 44 mag. Yeah, those are gone too.
4" Python and a Colt Commander.
Browning BL 22.
I getting depressed. Better move on.:(

It wasn't really mine. It was dad's truck gun for the farm work truck, a Ruger Speed Six 357. It was a stainless 4" barrel model that lived in a leather flap holster in the govebox. I learned to shoot a revolver with that gun. I shot 90% or more of ammo that went through it. It was all cast bullets that was a sub 357mag load but beyond 38+p that my dad had worked up.

When I was in the Air Force in the the 80's dad got rid of that truck and traded the gun for a 1911 with some cash. I was disappointed he didn't offer it to me.

I have been looking for another 4" stainless Speed Six but all I have ever found in stainless is the 3" barrel. My S&W 65-2 with 4" barrel in stainless is a great substitute as it is a "keeper".

Turn4811's post above reminded me of another gun in my life that I wish that I had. It was really my Dads but I shot it a lot more than he did. It was a Marlin bolt action wit a finger groove stock and a clip and it was ACCURATE.
While I was in the Navy in WW11 it was disposed of and I never got a straight answer of what happened to it.
Someone on the Forum has one only it has a tube mag. I have looked in pawnshops for 75 years and have never found one.
