Guns you've always wanted but never obtained.

I too like guns with a purpose.

This causes me to shed a tear once in a while. At 2 different times I owned A ruger 3 screw 4 5/8" bbl in 41 Mag. It was the perfect packing size. My brain is not my best friend at trade times, while getting some Colts I let them go. I later sold the Colts after the prices went up.

Now I no longer have the Rugers. Watch out here comes another tear. :(

Well, you guys need some help here. The next time you are tempted to sell a gun, just get in touch with me, and I'll figure out a purpose for it, and then you won't have to sell it, and then you won't end up feeling bad that you sold it!! See, now wasn't that easy??

I made up a rule some time ago: "always buy; never sell!!" I did modify it to stipulate that it was OK to sell any Smith and Wesson with an IL.

I thought about amending it to include any gun with a "warning label" roll marked on it someplace, you know, some thing like: "Don't use this firearm until you have read the owners manual, and send our lawyers a notarized disclaimer that if you get hurt, that you won't sue us". But then I'd have to get rid of my Rugers and Berettas.

Anyway,

Best Regards, and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

A Browning Sweet Sixteen, a Savage M99, a Colt 1903 or 1908, an Ithaca 37 in twenty gauge, a Colt Detective Special, a two-inch Smith M30 or 31--can you tell I'm a bit of a traditionalist?

Fortunately I've been able to acquire most all of the guns I've ever
wanted but there remains one I probably will never own. For many years
now I've wanted a US M3A1 Grease Gun for some unknown reason.
Just a back yard plinker I guess. I should have bought one way back
before 1968 when they were cheap but at today's prices I don't expect
to ever own one unless I hit the lottery.

Either a Colt 1903 .32 acp. or a 1908 .380. I had a chance years ago for really nice one with very minor freckeling that I think would have cleaned up, for $300 but I was short on cash and missed it.

A .32 Terrier, I don't know why but I do.

27-2 blue with a 8-3/8" barrel. Had one once and sold it.

M1 Garand. Same as above.

M19 3 inch

So many out there I would love to have, but I 2nd the model 19 ,3 inch, and even better if it were a Pinto, yes definitely a Grail ,one I would love to just see in person, let alone own .

There are a lot of guns I'd like to have but will probably never buy because in my retirement I will not likely have the money. But the one that keeps rolling around in my brain is a CZ82. It is not inconceivable that me, the gun and the money could all come together in the same place, at the same time, some day.

I'm going to go with the original poster. A Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special. The only double action 44 Special still in manufacture. A big fat slow moving round. I may buy one some day.

The Karabiner 98 kurz, the short version of the Mauser K98 in 30-06 has been a desired firearm for years. Have seen the standard K98s in various calibers but never the carbine version in great shape, caliber and price at the right moment.

I once owned a 54 Hawken built by Milt hudson when he started Ozark Mtn Arms. The rifle had been on the cover of Guns and Ammo. It had Long locks, triggers, a Hand made green Mtn BBL and rienhart Fajen made the stock by hand.
Milt change all the hardware and was catching it from dealers, showing them a prize and sending a lesser gun. He had one made up with the new parts and I was in his shop the day he decided to let it go, got it pretty cheap.

He had borrowed the original hawken in the arch Museum and had it copied exactly. It was like having an original Sam Hawkins plains rifle, half stock.

I have a copy of the Medina Hawken which is in the Colorado History Museum.

Maker went into the museum and made pencil tracings of the patch box, stars, and metal forearm replacement etc.If a nail or screw is worn out on the original, it is worn out on mine too.

Winchester 21 set up from the factory for trap (12 ga. Full/Full vent rib beaver tail)

Did get a 12 ga. field grade after many years

Rifles:
Styer AUG, IWI Tavor, or FN P90 (sadly... NY, so all three of them a solid no)

9mm glock mag AR-15 with a 10" barrel (again... NY)

Pistols:
Freedom Arms 383 (my grandfather always wanted a freedom arms, so I would like to track one down some day, as a reminder)

S&W model 13 RB, 3" HB

TRR8

CZ 75 SP-01

HS Precision takedown rifle. I first handled on in '98 or'99 at the Varmint Hunters Jamboree. I could have bought it in 22-250 ( the sample they had there) for 2 grand. Now they're close to 6 grand. Maddening part is: my wife told me to get it back then and I balked; because that was a lot for the family budget back then. 6 grand is a much bigger price to me now than 2 grand was back then.

1. A .455 S&W Hand Ejector, 1st or 2nd Model, Named and unit identified so I could research the owner.

2. Complete Navy Luger rig with unit markings (doubt this will ever happen)

3. Any good condition Parker 16 ga.

4. S&W Schofield 2000

5. One of the Savage/Stevens .22/410 survival guns from WW 2.

6. Colt Official Police .38-200, WW 2 British issue
