Information to consider, related to this string. I do a lot of work under our Public Records Act. A local miscreant is the subject of a request on which I am working now. He is, as far as I know, a multiply convicted felon, with a history starting when I prosecuted him as a juvenile in 2002 or so.
The current set of reports shows in him possession (and using) a collection of items to impersonate a cop. Red and blue light bar; drop holsters, miscellaneous firearms, you name it. It is, for my money, extremely unwise to create an impression such as he has done. I acknowledge that the issue here has been presented as decent people having cuffs, but to the average uninformed citizen, the difference between that and this criminal is not reasonably perceptible.
