Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Steven. You may recognize this forum name from other forums, as also use it for my automotive and other various forums.
The story of my S&W M&P 15-22 started about two years ago, while I was on a trip to visit a good friend in Tallahassee. Being the good friend that he is, he asked if I wanted to squeeze in some range time before I made it to the football game that night. I was more then happy to make the extra effort to wake up and get out there as early as I (and the gf) could stand. My friend has a nice assortment, so after choosing our weapons, we headed out.
As chances would have it, we ran into another friend of ours, who happened to be out that morning as well. One of the guns that he was shooting was the M&P 15-22. After watching him shoot a few mags, I asked if he would mind letting me shoot some. He gladly handed me the gun, and a box of .22lr. For the next hour or so, I was off in la-la land. The gun had a great feel in my hands, and with the nice lil scope he had on it, I could hit just about any target on either side of the range. I was hooked!
As things would turn out, I haven't had any opportunity or spare funds to invest in one, till recently. My 15-22 arrived last week, with the SN starting DZL. Other then two or three shots, I haven't had a chance to take it out for some range time / target practice.
I choose one with the quad rail and flash suppressor, because I already knew what I had in mind as far as accessories, and the overall "tactical" look/ usage of the gun I was going for.
I am starting to get the odds and ends picked out including:
- 3 extra S&W mags (already arrived)
- Mag couplers
- UTG Covert Homeland Security carrying case
- Sling - (I am leaning towards a 2 point sling, and putting an extra loop on the foregrip)
Please point me in the right direction on this. What brands should I look at, and what should I stay away from.
I like the simplicity of this one, but not sure if it would fit, or be too cheap.
BLACKHAWK! Universal Tactical 1.25-Inch Sling: Amazon.com: Sports & Outdoors
- Tactical foregrip / bipod - Need Suggestions
- red Dot / Scope (I was thinking of this combo
Amazon.com: NcStar Mark III Tactical P4 Sniper 3-9X42/Scope Adaptor Mount/Red Dot Combo Package (STP3942G/D): Sports & Outdoors)
I'm looking forward to reading the threads I haven't seen yet. I'm sure there are plenty of answers and suggestions waiting to fill my brain.
