I was oiling up my Safe queens today and when I cocked back the Hammer and the Hammer main spring snapped in half. Does anyone know a source for a new old one or a reproduction? I looked at Numrichs and got lost.

David Chicoine is your best bet. If he doesn't have one, he probably knows someone who does. He also can put you on a want list and try to find one for you. He's found a few parts for me.
Here's his website:
Dan, Dave Chicoine is a source, but he can be expensive. The mainspring in your Model 1 1/2 is kind of a generic spring. Many old S&Ws, Colt's, Sucide Specials, etc. of that vintage have the same main spring, or their main spring can be easily altered to work OK in your gun, if you have minimum gun smith skills. EBay has recenly had a splurge of parts sales from gunsmith's estates that include piles of those old springs & parts. Check those sources. Ed.
I've made replacements from common K-frame mainsprings (if I'm thinking of the right revolver..bottom break action, 5 shot, fluted cyl, round bbl, round grip). All that needs to be done is to shorten slightly the spring from the bottom end. Sometimes the width needs to be trimmed a bit at that end too. They may feel a little less powerfull than the original but they will work just fine. If you have both pieces of your original, the needed length can be better estimated. The original spring will have more of a curviture to it than the replacement in their un-installed states.
