The nearest to fancy I have.
Found an engraved 3" 625 at Tulsa 5 years ago and went back to have Danny make this. Saw the work he did and liked the way he did acorns & oak leaves. Shown with a custom 25-2 with a 3 1/2" barrel. Larry

Might be a bit of a stretch to put this one in a beauty contest, but I became
quite fond of it during it's recent rescue & rehab.
It is a laced Heiser model 417, on a Lawrence cartridge belt, the stag
handle (probably faux) Bowie is by Sharps, and the sun bonnet is my
57 year old Resistol. The grips on the Model 10 are by Jay Scott.

a model 820 made for the Colt Single Action Army with 7.5" barrel.
The belt is by Texas Gunslingers. The knife & sheath are by Bear.
And of course, the Open Road by Stetson.
By the way, the Colt Cavalry replica is by Denix. Very true to
the real McCoy in looks and specs. It's duty is hanging on my
office wall.

I never did have a cat named Lucky, but I did have a dog
named Lucky. He ran off and we never did find him. So

Got this set a while back , the gun is not mine . It actually fits a DA colt .41 frame or a old N frame smith equally but is not a true fit for any SA as the ejector tube makes it a too tight fit .
Am looking for a equally nice 35F belt in .44 for a 42 waist so I can use both above mentioned revolvers with the holster .

I prefer holsters wiithout a retention strap for concealed carry. So, when
I searched for a Baker pancake I tried to find one with an open top. As it
turned out, it was a long search.
With the cylinder above the belt line, the holster tends to tip out from
the body. That may be why Baker made so few open top pancakes.
I finally found the one shown below, It was made for a model 36 with
a 3" barrel. But my Colt's Agent fits better than a J Frame. The Agent
has a 2" barrel.
Red NIchols put a positve spin on it for me. He told me the extra inch
would tend to keep the gun from tipping outward. And it does.
I think Roy Baker, the pancake maker, made a thing of beauty here,
so I will add it to the thread. It is shown with the Colt's Agent. The
belt is by James, and the Stetson is an Open Road.

I believe this Hunter 55L is worthy of the Beauty Contest. The Mexican
carving is authentic. Back in the mid 1950s when Hunter started offering
the 55L it would cost you $6.70 to get a carved holster. The plain one was
only $4.80.

While I'm obsessed with holsters I don't own any super nice ones from classic makers of the past. So my fanciest are a couple I made for myself.
