How did you find your way to this forum?

I took the Slawson Cutoff, then cut off my Slawson, and here I was. I was on the old Para S&W forum, befeore Lee took over. My post count didn't transfer. Originally, I was looking for some N frame info, and the Interwebz brought me here.

I got some new guns....

I got back into reloading and I got some new guns and my brand has always been S&W so I wanted to know more about them. I tested the water on several forums that I thought were good with knowledgeable and helpful people, but none are as good as this one.

I just googled "What is the best gun for a bear" and it led me right here.:D

Actually I bought a new S&W 1522 for my son and the extractor blew when we were sighting it in. So I googled the name and here I am.:D Been here ever since and I am glad this forum exists. There are a lot of good people here.:)

It was a DARK and STORMY night. Seriously. I was on Gunbroker trying to finagle a fella out of a K22 Outdoorsman he emailed me about and they were having a hurricane at the time. After a couple disconnects and $500 he told me about this place. Made some great friends over the years. All from the early days when this place could get slightly out of hand. :):) Not really a whole lot of folks from back then here anymore.

Clint Eastwood recommended the place. :)

Interesting thread. I had to look at my data to see when I joined. I was surprised.

In my case, I bought a S&W 686-2 4" from a friend and co-worker, who was selling down his collection. I found myself owning one of the finest revolvers going. Now, I'm no stranger to motorcycle forums, so I just Googled S&W Forum; was led here. Lurked for a day or two, then joined.

My son got interested in shooting as well, and now we spend significant time at the range. And I cannot tell you how much fun we've had. His interest branched to Glocks, mine recently to 1911's. I need mention my wife is also enjoying an occasional range trip, loving shooting the 686 as well as a model 10-5 snub.

My reloading desire, in one short year, has taken me from banging 38 cartridges out at the kitchen table with a Lee Loader, to a single stage press, to a turret press I co-own with my son to feed our .45acp appetite. We now load .38, .357, 9mm, and .45acp. And we're both pining for a Blue painted Square Deal.

I don't post much but I read and learn from the reloading area every day. I've made friends here and participated in David R's 45 and snubby "for fun only" matches posted here.

This is a fine forum.

H.F.: Way to go! The family that shoots and reloads together stays 'family'. IMHO, with your experience you and your son should skip over the Square Deal and jump right into the Dillon 550B. You will be able to turn out double the loads in a given period of time. And, the change over time from one caliber to another is way less. Dillon has fantastic customer service and will 'talk' you thru any problem you might develop in setup and operation. Have a great time. ............ Big Cholla

ps; I'm on my 5th Touring Harley right now and a 6th is about to join it. Sometime a 1200 Sportster is just the bike for the ride.

One of the gun forums had a list at the bottom of all the sites for different makes. Being a S&W guy, saw this one. Hit the enter button and here I am.

I was looking for the OldFartsForum.com, and was redirected.....;)

Seriously, this forum came up again and again in other firearms forums, and unlike those "other" places, I have found the ownership and membership to be outstanding, in both manners and knowledge, which is generously shared. Can't really stand the level of discourse on those "other" sites anymore, this place has spoiled me but good.

And, thanks to all who keep this place what it is. You have my gratitude.
