year. Looking for more this year because of it being on Sat.
Just wandering how many you have. Don

In four years we have had a total of about six kids. No children in this neighborhood. Oops, forgot the new family next door. Three kids. They'll be here. My newly "adopted" grandkids.

The last few years.....none. Not even a knock at the door. The majority of respectable kids around here aren't interested in trick or treating anymore.....most of them are on their cell phones, Ipod's, Playstations, watching TV, surfing the net, etc.

And from around 12 years old on up, a lot of them are too busy hangin' out, getting high, selling drugs and killing each other with their "ghats"

Sad but true :(

My door bell will ring less then 6 times. The neighbor right behind me will go through 20 bags of candy. Houses on that block are much closer together and there is a school across the street from me. Amazing what a difference a couple of hundred feet can do.

Usually 30 t0 40 if the weather is decent. I enjoy handing out the candy, especially when the little ones want to tell me a joke.

Houses on my side of the street are set back 100-200 feet from the road. Haven't seen a Trick or Treater at my door in 10 years worth of Halloweens.

Do see a few random groups roaming the neighborhood but most won't spend the time walking to the inconveniently located homes. Shame as it use to be a favorite holiday.

Anywhere from 100 to 200. People come in from poorer neighborhoods with kids piled in their cars.

We haven't had any in years. We now keep the drive gate closed - it's not the same as it was.

In an active year, maybe a dozen. Some years, 2 or 3. Even if I am a grump, I like little kids (OK, I even like some of their momma's! :) ) I have a friend at work who is a candy buyer for our distribution business. That translates in to lots of free samples.

I'm old and my standard of size was the 1950s vintage nickel candy bar. These days it would cost a $1. Some of it not even released to the public yet, but I've got a bowl of it.

So when the really cute little kids toddle up to trick or treat, I make sure the effort is rewarded. Particularly if its getting late, like maybe 8:00 and there's not much traffic. Then the kids sometimes get a big handful of stuff.

Some years I sit out on the drive with my cooler. Tenders, mothers or fathers are offered a cold one. It makes their pain a little more tolerable.

Probably not a single one; we haven't had any for the last 8-10 years. The few young 'uns around here get driven up to the more affulent suburbs north of town. We still get one bag of candy, just in case, of course, it's something we both like.

Too Many

We're done. The last two years it seemed like busloads from out of town hit us. No one we knew and almost overun. If not for the retreat claymores I would not be here to tell the tale.
BOO! I'll be behind the door with the .45 and the other .45.

I now own the house I grew up in... in my 24 years I have never had a trick or treater at my door. Of course, my house is hidden by dense tree growth over 1/4 mile off of the "main" road. :D

I was at my girlfriend's last year and was annoyed by all the trick or treaters... about ten showed up! We had to pause our movies TEN times!

None, hard to get past the darkened, intimidating front area. House lights off, cars in the garage, homeowners snuggled up in front of the TV with all drapes drawn.
