Birthday today and I had no idea I would ever get to be this old. I am from the 2nd year of the baby boomers. My class went through our school system like a goat through a python. We were almost twice the size of the class before us. Subsequent classes got bigger for a few years and then there was a big drop off.

We were children of the 60's. Forty Six boys in my class and 36 in the military with 16 in Vietnam. We all came back, but some damaged. Ten are deceased, 6 of them Vietnam vets. Various cancers and ALS took their toll. One died of his wounds, it just took 40 years.

I have a daughter who was born with Spina Bifada due to my exposure to Agent Orange and I had a bout with prostate cancer 15 years ago.

I have been married to the same woman 52 years next Monday. I have had a pretty good life. I have a few very close friends and I have made many friends here and through the SWCA.

It's apparent that you were blessed with good morals, made a good choice of a helpmate, and served your country with valor.

You are now reaping the harvest of that, service, both good and bad. May you live as long as you wish, enjoy the Good, and may God help you endure the Bad.

I just got here myself, 75 a month ago...The road is a little bumpier here isn't it?...My Dad didn't get home from Attu until the late spring of 1946...I was born 9 months and 10 minutes later......Ben
