I have a suggestion to fight profiteers!

Nothing wrong with that, some like to keep informed and see things from beginning to end. Its called: Being part of the learning process!

Would you say the post that re-started this thread was "informative"? ;) From what I gathered, it prompted a comment (not by you, of course) about the shortage of Kleenex and a lot of "teaching" that had nothing to do with the current ammo supply situation.

The lone exception reiterated what most of us already knew: Bulk .22 is out there if you're willing to look for it.

As for other calibers, I've seen 9mm, .40 and even .45 and some 5.56 sitting on the shelves again at slightly higher than pre-panic prices but nowhere near what some would decry as "gouging." The only calibers I'm aware of that seem to remain elusive at the brick and mortars are .22 and .380 Auto. There also seems to be a recent dearth of .38/.357 defensive loadings but fairly good stocks of plinking fodder. Again, it's out there if you call around and are willing to look for it.

I trust that you've found this post sufficiently "informative" and "educational" for the benefit of others. :D

All the best to you and yours, CoMF.

You haven't seen the line of those who showed up to WalMart late lined up in the Kleenex aisle waiting for it to be stocked. Lots of crying means lots of Kleenex is needed.

Now to business.

I've noticed fewer options being offered on gunbot. HAs anyone noticed the same thing. Its looking like 22 is drying up again. My local Academy has not seen any in the last 2 weeks and they have been quite dependable with at least some showing up in each delivery. Granted it wasn't much but at least some was available. I've noticed 9mm also starting to be in shorter supply than it was a few months ago.

If you don't get your timing correct, you may end up flat broke and a fool:)

Like my buddy says: "My goal is to die debt-free but hope to make sure the check to the undertaker bounces!":p

Reply for the first part of this post: "Im too tired to properly reply."

Reply for the second part of this post: "Refer to first reply." ;-))

No worries, hoss. It'll still be there after you've rested up. ;)

The price of tequila has gotten really high lately. Could some of you guys do the honorable thing and send me a few litres?

OK, I just noticed this pic of our hero Deputy Fife. Note that he's CORRECTLY loading with his RIGHT hand while seemingly holding his revolver, also correctly, in his LEFT hand, left fingers through the cylinder opening etc. The way they teach us in cop school.

Was Mr Knotts a real live pistolero in real life, does anyone know? Or did some consultant show him how to do that?

I'm all in favor of bud nippin'

#1 way to combat price gouging ammo hawks... don't buy from them.

When I have free time I stalk them near the gun counter at the local walmart and photograph them in the act so others know who they're dealing with.

Ammo Shopping Alternatives

If "Ammo Buying" becomes a dead horse, there is always television to hold our interest.

News channels, merchandising channels, dead TV (Murder She Wrote, The Newly Weds, Matlock, etc), Discovery (with its newest chainsaw, gold mining, and swamp inhabitants), History channels, or even your local stations for great human interest.

Now go to the range and shoot something, even if your just run your jawbone in full auto  :D  :).

I am sad to say the liberal mind set has moved over to the shooting world. There are cry babies who want to demand wealth(ammo) redistribution because life was not fair to them on their terms. Sad commentary....

Guess it is easier to hate on those that have, than to take personal responsibility for your life. Every day all of us are blessed with choices...your choices put you where you are.

Don't know but I now notice that he also has his eyes "on the situation" instead of the gun! Good stuff.

Ooh-ooh - and post their picture on the "National Database of Hoarders, Preppers and Flippers" website?

I love that site. I was voted "Prepper of the month" in July.

Food has been mentioned a couple of times in the thread. How many people don't bother to lay in a reasonable stock of food while it is plentiful and reasonably priced, but make sure they have that big screen TV or latest smart phone? In a food shortage, will they expect others who had some foresight to give up their supply? Maybe they will expect FEMA or some other gov't entity to go around and round up other people's stashes for distribution to them. That way they don't even have to form their own mob.

I wonder if there is a website yet that others post on that show them in action? If not? there should be.

Taking away from others ((in the name of Enterprise)) from having a chance at the product, is flat our greed and dishonesty at its best let alone, I wouldnt want to "have" to depend on a person like that--in any situation. I.e. the sharing of a Foxhole kinda thing.

Ah yes... proving once again that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

No, we share them in our community groups. They're the same people that went around and bought up all the rifle ammo right before deer season opened up.

If you waited until deer season to purchase rifle ammunition this year and there was none, maybe you could mark your calendar and buy it sooner next year.

It's the same thing with buying a turkey for Thanksgiving. I bought ours yesterday as a matter of fact. And you know what? Those who wait until Saturday will have fewer options, longer lines, and more aggravation. Will I be called a "turkey hoarder" too?

At what point is it all right with someone else for me to buy a thing? At what point am I to cease purchasing said thing in order not to offend someone else's sense of how much I should have? Is there a schedule out there saying "John Doe will be at Wal Mart at 10:30 AM next Tuesday. Everyone, please do not buy any ammunition before John has a chance to come in and see what he needs. 'The Community' has decided that you do not require a turkey of greater than 15 pounds. Your name and picture is on the 15 pound list. Please do not purchase a 16 pound turkey."

I have a self-declared supply of ammunition to maintain, a budget set aside for purchasing ammunition and a schedule of range time for expending the ammunition. As long as I am able to purchase ammunition on my budget, and I am able to maintain the supply of ammunition I deem adequate and I am able to shoot when I want, I will do so. If someone else's method of acquisition does not work, I suggest they look inward instead of blaming others and hurling epithets.

And I do believe the lowest form of wit would be the pun. ;)
