I have Temporarily stopped shooting 22 LR......

Cases of Federal 525 bulk pack are selling for $525.00 + shipping on Gunbroker...I cant find any .22 anywhere......The .22LR that I have now, I'm sitting on....If i do shoot, it will only be 100 rounds or so at a time....no more going to the range and shooting a whole brick...

I believe the days of the $15-$20 brick of 22 are over.......

i don't understand it either. at last weekend's gun show there was plenty of ammo except .22lr. by lunch time on saturday it was all gone but some russian match stuff for $67.00 a brick. ten bucks for a 50 rd box of CCI stingers etc. i took one box of CCI SV to a friend who squirrel hunts with it and you would have thought i bought him a new car. lee

I got lucky and bought a case of CCI SV for $275 shipped.
I had to wait 27 days to get it, but I got it 2 days ago.

.22 is cheap by comparison.....for example, .223 is selling for close to $1.00 per round.....At its current inflated price, .22LR is selling for $0.10 per round....more bang for the buck I guess.....

That's why I still don't pop open the case I've bought last fall. I guess I just switch to 17 HMR atm till I can see 22s back on shelves... 17 HMR is probably the only round available in wally mart in my area...

It's been over in my area for over a year. Walmart went to $22-ish a brick for Fed & GB bulk a long time ago.

Glad a scored ... ummm... "a bunch" ... of it from a private party @ $15/brick last year.

sgammo has been getting CCI SV in stock about once every week and a half or so. Usually around 200 cases 5k ea. The last inventory that came in yesterday was gone in minutes. Price has gone up with each new inventory. $259, $279 and yesterday $299. I got the $259, missed the $279 and was lucky enough to get in fast enough yesterday. One case per person.

It's not just .22, it's just about ALL ammo. What there is on the shelves is already very expensive, like .45LC, but there is virtually no "common" ammo (.38 Special, 9mm, .45 ACP, .40 S&W) to be found in the places I have gone.

A few years back...everytime I was at Wallyworld I would grab a box of Federal 550 count...for $8.97. I have around 30K stashed away in ammo cans.

Based on that It drives me crazy I can't shoot my 9mm

I'm sitting on what I have until the frenzy is over and I'll go back to buying a box or two a week and shooting two

stopped at walmart for a few things. went to see the ammo. they had a sign that said"only three boxes of ammo a day". a guy was buying shotguns shells, 3 bxs. told it was funny that there is 3 bx. limit, but no pistol ammo in the case. we both laughed. no 22`s at all. some 22-250, shot gun shells.

Our largest local LGS has a one box per day limit on what ammo they have. Sucks big time.

What is the deal with Wal Mart and ammo?

I read in this forum that the Wally World shelves are bare.

In three area WMs where I live, nothing, totally empty.

Are they getting bought that fast or is WM not stocking?

If they aren't stocking, why?
