I have Temporarily stopped shooting 22 LR......

I shoot Eley, Center X, Wolf, and other standard velocity 22 ammo in my rifles. I think you can still find this ammo. Don

People are complaining they can't shot 22LR. It was only a few months ago that 22 was cheap and plentiful. How come these same people were not buying a brick a month or a brick a week and putting some away for a rainly day? I guess no one remembers the fable about the thrifty ant and the grasshopper.

Wally world here is dry too. The lady said they should have more soon but if you're not there when it comes in you're out of luck it goes so quick.

think I am going to buy a 357 Sig barrel for my 40 you can still find the Sig ammo in a lot of places. Of course it's not cheap.

Most of my stuff I reload but even these thing are getting out of sight as far as prices go and stuff is getting harder to find.

Maybe when all the preppers and stuff get their stocks filled it'll be a little easier to find and maybe the price will drop a little as well.

I don't know, glad I had some stuck back along with powder, primers and bullets.

Just my two cents.

Although you pose a good question, I can't answer it.
I try to snag a box when I can and think about it, usually when I find it on sale. Consequently, this current short supply isn't a concern to me at the moment and I have 2 adult kids and 5 g-kids that haven't missed a beat when it comes to plinking and when we get the opportunity to shoot together.

I was in the Hammond, Indiana Cabelas on Wednesday and they had a pallet full of Federal Champion bulk packs. It doesn't work in my M&P22 so I didn't buy any. But, nobody else was buying it either. They also had a ton of S&B & PMC 9mm ammo sitting on the shelf.

I'm sitting on several bricks of 22LR. Back when my friend wasn't married, we used to go shooting a lot and every time we went he forgot to bring ammo. So, he would buy a brick and shoot a box. When he did get married, I inherited all his ammo.

A few years back...everytime I was at Wallyworld I would grab a box of Federal 550 count...for $8.97. I have around 30K stashed away in ammo cans.

Glad now that I did this...

YIKES!

I don't have nearly that much but enough that I'm seriously think of trading for some primers.

I'm fairly certain that .22LR will be back at reasonable prices eventually. Not sure about primers. They went up to $42-ish/1K during the Great Primer Drought & never went back down.

I have a couple of half empty boxes of bulk ammo; one Federal, the other Winchester. I've had best luck with the Federal and worst luck with Remington. Which is why I don't have any of it. I have about four boxes of CCI Green Tag for my S&W 41 and target rifles, and four boxes of CCI 22 short target for my Hammerli-Walther Olympia. Some of it I've had for quite a while, as I don't shoot too much 22. Guess I'll survive until the crisis is over. Don't know whether I'll find any more CCI 22 short target for my Hammerli, as the Olympic Rapid Fire match is shot with 22 LR now.

With very few exceptions, I handload all my centerfire ammo. And while components are now expensive, they aren't unobtainable.

Sitting on 6000+ rounds of 22LR and always looking for more.

We still go to the range regularly, but we are now limiting our round count.

I scored 3 boxes of .22WMR today at wally world.

Grisly old guy at the counter said the best time of day to buy ammo of any kind is to be waiting at the door at opening time.

Shipments arrive daily, and gets shelved overnight for the next day's business.

YMMV

Well at least Snap Caps are available. I've been doing alot of dry firing lately. Saves ammo and money.

My walmart got 10 250 count boxes of Remington UMC 9mm and sold 8 in less than an hour. They also got 10 100 round boxes of Federal 9mm. I got 3 and the rest were gone the next day.I have approx. 650 rounds of 9mm put away for now.

My LGS is supposed to get 10 boxes of the 250 count boxes of Remington UMC 9mm Friday. $75 a box. Not bad since they're $63 at walmart.

I bought a fair amount of 22lr last year after I built a dedicated 22lr AR as I shoot that to save on the cost of 5.56mm. I have other 22lr guns as well and stocking up made sense then and glad I did. I wish I'd bought more now but will still shoot some just not so much as before until this settles down.
The stores I work at are out of most everything now too. I saw 22 short, 44 mag, 380, 17HMR and shot shells the other day was all.

I am not shooting much of anything, but shotguns right now. Because of availibilty and price. I do have a little over 10,000 rounds of .22lr on hand. Which is not much if you shoot like I do. The last three years I have shot as chose as I can figure ~ 60,000 rounds of .22lr. Right now I can't replace it, as fast as I shoot it. Last 3 years the cost was ~.035 cents as round.
Last week what I am seeing is like ~ .10 - .15 cents a round. I have two cases of 9mm that I gave ~.14 cents a round. Not shooting it either.

I am shooting shotguns more now than ever.

I found some "decent" deals this week.

Yesterday I bought 5 bricks of CCI Standard Velocity Target (40 grain) for $30.00 OTD each; I see it selling on Gunbroker right now for $50 + $15 shipping.

Today, I found some Winchester 525 Bulk Pack 36 gr. Copper HP's for $23.99. The store got in 8 bricks this morning and there were 7 left when I got there. Too bad they had a "1 brick per day limit" or I would have bought all 7.
