1911 Girl-
I'm fascinated with your photos and situation. Glad that you can own the OD/green Glock.
I read a series of true spy books by Aline, Countess of Ramonones, if I spelled that right. She was a US citizen, posted to Spain as an OSS agent in WW II. Killed a gypsy who went aftrer her with a knife (I guess one of their traditional navajas) using a .25 Beretta. That was my only prior knowledge of a lady in Spain with a gun. She married the Count and became a Spanish citizen, although continuing to work for the CIA after the war. If you want to look for her books, the first was, "The Spy Wore Red."
I've often wondered if someone living in Malaga (my keyboard doesn't do accentos) can look with a binocular across the Straits of Gibraltar (?) and see North Africa? Not sure just where you are on the coast.
Which sidearms do the police carry? I got the impression somewhere that they have turned to H-K in lieu of Star (out of business) and Astra, probably also out of business. ?? What about Spanish military pistols? The last I heard, they had Star M-30's. Are you limited to a certain number of rounds a year? It may be that I heard that of Portugal, not Spain.
With your looks and weapons skill, do you get teased for being a sort of real life Modesty Blaise, if you've read those thrillers by Peter O'Donnell?
And, on a Spanish note, have you seen a movie called, "Juana la Loca", English-titled as, "Mad Love"? It's about the daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella who married a man that I think was the Duke of Burgundy. Have to look up his title. I believe that he became a king. Anyway, they were passionate about one another until he got caught with a Moorish princess on the side, and the Spanish chick, Juana (Joan) blew her top. He eventually got her sequestered in a convent, and went on to become a king, if memory serves. It was Spain's entry for Best Foreign Film at the Oscars ceremony a few years ago, and won. Splendid pagentry, with beautiful castles and period fashions. The primitive means of travel then (circa 1500) made me appreciate how we have cars now. You can find details about the movie and probably previews on YouTube.
Just a thought, if you appreciate Spanish history and a well told tale of a doomed love, amidst a glamorous background of great splendor. You'll probably like the Duke; the actor resembles that guy Fabio who used to be on the covers of a lot of romance novels.

And there's a good scene where he was practicing at archery! The guys here will like Juana and the Moorish chick, who was dancing in a bar when the Duke first saw her and later moved her to the palace as a courtesan. It's in Castillian Spanish, with English or French subtitles.
One other question: what are the knife laws there? Can you carry a normal Swiss Army pocketknife? A lockblade folder with a four-inch blade?
Thanks, and very welcome to the board. We need more people here who can spell well!
