Schwan's sells a nice orange cream ice cream. Only seasonal though.
Notice with pet threads we have almost universal good-will, kindness and graciousness among our forum brothers and sisters. It looks like ice cream is another such topic that brings out the best in everyone.
We are planning on making a freezer full of Butterfinger ice cream for a Church Social, this coming Sunday after service.
Be surprised then, they have been in business since 1988. (This is not an endorsement!)I like most all ice cream but last evening my wife insisted we try the new Cold Stone Creamery that recently opened. Very ordinary. I ordered a chocolate sundae - they don't make them. Most of what they had were gimmick candy concoctions catering to kids. I went with a vanilla waffle cone and the cone was burnt tasting and the ice cream was almost as good as Bryer's. If they make it 6 months I'll be surprised.

A good vanilla with a little chocolate syrup is hard to beat.
This thread just reminded me of an old-timey soda fountain/ice cream shop/restaurant I used to go to when I was a child, called Farrell's. usually it was for a float, but I remember one time in 6th grade, I believe, when a few friends and I went there and chipped in for The Volcano, 30 scoops of ice cream covered in hot fudge.
When I was about 20, one Friday night I ordered and ate a "Hot Fudge Kilimanjaro", 24 scoops of ice cream and of course Hot Fudge and whipped cream. I got them to make it with Coffee flavored Ice Cream. I didn't eat on Saturday or most of Sunday!
I could go for a smaller version right now!
