Some new portraits with a few new accessories. Overkill for this rifle? Hell yes. Some things have trickled down from its big brother, but have to say I love this more and more as time goes by! Partial list of goodies:
  • painted about a year ago and holding up well
  • Primary Arms micro dot on American Defense mount
  • Magpul CTR, FDE rail panels, MS3 Sling, MOE+ grip, and modified (cut down) AFG-2
  • Troy backup sights
  • KNS anti-rotation pins
  • BAD-*** selector levers
  • Midwest Industries buffer tube sling mount (rear)
  • Fortis rail mount sling mount (front)
  • Surefire ladder rail covers (top)
  • Spike's fake can

I love it!
What type of paint did you use?
Thanks...2 coats of "Adhesion Promoter", then about 3-4 light coats of Rustoleum Satin Fossil, then 2 light coats of a clear matte finish.

Thanks again for the positive comments. @davidbush05...you're probably right. What fun would that be? :)

Great looking 15-22!

I really like it...alot.

If I didn't suffer from a lack of painting skills I might try something like that. With the lack of painting skills,I better not.

Thanks...it wasn't really that hard. To prep, I cleaned it with either denatured alcohol or acetone (don't remember which), and just hung up the parts (disassembled) on strings and painted in several very light coats. I sacrificed one magazine to test 3 or 4 different paint colors before landing on the one that I used. I think the primer coat (something intended for plastic car parts) was key to getting the paint to stick this well. Then, re-assembly was just a matter of getting the paint out of the smaller holes (takedown pins, etc) without chipping anything on the outside of the lower. It was fun to do, and was a pretty good learning experience taking everything apart. The best part? It still goes boom every time I pull the trigger! :)

Nice rifle. Which barrel did you choose from the SW site? Is this the standard barrel with just the flash removed to fit? I am assuming you remove the flash hider and screw on the spikes

It's just the common one with the threaded flash hider removed. The can is threaded on in it's place.
