If I Had a Few Million (3rd Gen)

I'm sorry guys. I hate to be that dude who ruins the party , but there's a reason metal frame S&Ws aren't made anymore.

The modern gun buyer thinks a Glock 17 is "heavy", and considers the trigger pull "excessive" if it weighs more then 3lbs.These old school guns require some level of appreciation of craftsmanship plus real world shooting experience to honestly enjoy. Those attributes are not found frequently among my peers, who judge a gun based on how big the mag is and which Army tactical team uses it.

I'm not sold on that. At least in the 10mm line. My used 1076 was more than a new G20. Sure, I was willing to pay the $$$ for the 1076, but lots of others were as well to set the price there.

The G20 wasn't the gun which defined the 10mm. S&Ws 1076 was.

The 5906 and cousins are objectively one of the best 9mm pistols money can buy.Yet Ze Glock is what people like.

I dunno ugrey - I just received my "new to me" cs 40. Can't for the life of me figure out why it should have any plastic parts. It's bad *** the way it S&W built it..... If I wanted a new plastic gun I'd by a new M&P.

3rd gen addiction's require all metal and/or some alloy.... Plastic takes away all craftsmanship required for form, fit, and function.

I wasn't implying that the G20 defined the 10mm, just pointing out that a 20 year old 10xx in good condition sells for more than a brand new G20. I guess the problem is that there aren't a lot of options in 10mm. It's the Glock, an EAA Witness, or a 1911 from one of the various manufacturers.

I would love to upsize the 3rd gen 9mm .40 to 4.2 inch bbls for us Canadians. I would love to have a small frame 9 or .40 to go with me 4505

Yea, That new RIA 10mm 1911 is petty sweet - May be my next 1911 or I might even try that new RRA Polymer Frame 1911 in Desert Sand....:D
