Glock 19 (unless it is considered a full size in this scenario), in which case, it would be a Glock 26.
If I could have only one concealed carry gun, it would be my current EDC: M&P Shield 9. It is comfortable to wear, light weight, easily conceals, nice to shoot, and reliable. And if I could have only one holster it would be the Kusiak IWB tuckable.

Winter: Sig 245, with two 220 back-up mags. Warm weather: Colt Agent/Cobra or My Model 12 2" and a sped loader. These are based on current possessions. My dream carry piece would be a Model 25-10 with a full moon or 2, year round! Ivan

Interesting that you ask.... My 642 was my everyday carry, but has now been relegated to only occasional carry (as has my 640). My current carry, which would be the one I would name if I could only have one carry gun, is the Ruger LC9s. I am trusting the "experts" that the 9mm round is as effective for self defense as is the 38 Special, and the LC9s is just as easy to conceal even in light clothing as is the j-frame. With a greater capacity, and with the reality that I can shoot it far more accurately than I can the 642, its a clear choice for me. So far this gun has been very reliable as well. And carrying a second mag is just as easy as carrying a speed strip, and easier than a bulky speed loader. I like the LC9s (which has a really great trigger by the way) so much that I considered selling my 642, but then I decided to just add a laser sight and put it away for when I want to carry a revolver. FWIW, I bought the LC9s on a trip to the gun store to look at and possibly buy the S&W Shield, but the trigger was so much nicer on the Ruger, and it fit my hand just as well as did the Shield, that I bought the LC9s instead (and it was a bit less expensive as well).

While my love of the .45 ACP leans me toward my Kahr P45, due to its extreme compactness (you tend to really carry what fits well), I also have a longtime love affair with my Glock 19. It hits where I point with seemingly little effort.
Even though I live in CA, I've been shooting long enough to have plenty of pre-ban hi-cap mags, and IF limited to only carrying one compact gun, 16 immediate rounds that I consistently hit with makes the Glock the winner for me.
Also, I carried it for years when I lived in a civilized part of the state that issued CCW, know how it fits and what to carry it in...

I don't own any "small" handguns; the smallest I own is the SD9VE/Ruger P89DC 9mm's. Then comes my FS M&P 45 (4.5" bbl) and my 5" Ruger SR1911 45's.
As much as I'd like to take one of my 45's, the SD9VE would be the smart choice here. The 9mm ammo would be easier to find, IMO. BTW, these are all my regular carry guns, I've never carried anything smaller than a Star PD 45 auto.
