Illegal to display handguns in store windows.

Ok, I get the law against displaying hand guns in windows. Doing so just isn't a good idea but, the law against advertising the sale of hand guns, puzzles me. Every gun dealer I've ever seen, has Glock, S&W, Ruger, etc.....signs in their windows, most of which contain a picture or at the very least, a silhouette of a hand gun.

I can't think of another Industry that as more regulation than the Firearms Industry. Not even the Pharmaceutical or Liquor Industry.
Makes perfect sense. Because the mere sight of anything that is a shape of a gun will cause the viewer to instantly fly into a murderous frenzy. Just the other day I say a sideways letter "L" and almost lost my control. I could have started a genocide!

Interesting the story cites law going back to 1923 banning gun stores from advertising handguns for sale. So much for the good old days, eh?

There is a law in four states that makes it illegal to display handguns, pictures of handguns or to put up signs advertising the sale of handguns in store windows. My state of Texas is one of those states. I had no idea this law existed, especially in Texas.

Gun dealers sue over California law barring window displays | Fox News

If guns are banned from window displays, then the crime rate will go down. Now it we can only get the car dealerships to take the cars out of their windows, the number people speeding will decrease drastically!

Can't advertise cigarettes anywhere, but I sure can't tell that ever stopped any smokers. :D

Yes, it is against the law in Germany to do so.
When we lived there, my wife would often salute German drivers.:(
She once did receive a ticket for such, 40 DM ($20)
paid on the spot to the officer. Pretty much stopped the saluting. :D

Heh heh, what actually prompted me to give the Italian guy the finger, was not only after he tooted the horn at Susanne--he gave her the Italian raised fist-turned and saw me--flipping him off. Susanne thanks me for defending her--but chewed my hind enough that I probably lost a pound. I cant remember if we were in Goslar--or Lubeck??? I think Goslar--since thats where Rommel and another famed soldie (Guderian I think?)--shared an apartment--when theey were both Majors.
Anyway, Susanne was cold tome for awhile--till I bought her a nice supper.

My local Walmart is equipped with both a pharmacy and a gun counter...

Same here. Also,Nichols Pharmacy here also sells all kinds of guns--and one of their branch pharmacys--even has an indoor shooting range.

used to go to a pharmacy in vegas that had lots of guns. don't remember the name, but they even sold trap guns. for most gunshops, that is unusual.

Harrell Pharmacy in my old hometown--is the same. They also had a soda-ice cream lunch counter toothat was excellent.
