I'm Rich !

The pleasure of being employed cost me 30k in taxes and insurance last year and I hate to admit that these small gifts take away a lot of sting.

Looks like a lot of people already got their stimulus checks judging by the insane prices I observed at an online milsurp auction today.

Beware

I got something from Omaha, i believe with a plastic card inside. I immediately thought it to be junk mail scam. I opened it today and "fact checked" thru IRS and other venues to see if safe. I think it is the real deal so I went ahead and activated the card. Somehow I learned that it is a debt with 600 USD in it. I hope that by using it I don't give up all my Bill of Rights, or have to pay it back at tax time. If this post is outside of allowable rules, I apologize.

Enjoy the money while you all can.

The spending is unsustainable. No one is going to do anything about it, ever. The latest projections show that the US government and most importantly, entitlements will be insolvent as soon as 2025. No more medicare, no more medicaid, and no more government checks - to anybody. It'll all end.

How does it feel to be a citizen of the greatest debtor nation in history?

Enjoy the money. Buy ammo, you'll probably need it sooner than you think!

Must be income based because I don't get anything and my wife received $30, not even enough to buy herself a box of quality .380.

I have not received any , including the first one, because I didn't file 2019 taxes yet.
But the illegals qualify for retroactive checks ?

What's a stimulus check? Never seen one of those!

I find it ridiculous.

Take our immediate family. The three households all earn just under the limit, have a substantial amount of education, job security, the ability to work from home some, and significant assets. Nobody's lost a dime due the all this.

By the time it's all done we will have received close to $20,000 in total between the three households. A few things were bought but 90% went in the bank. Since nobody needed it that's where it went.

We're thinking about blowing it all on a group vacation when this is over. In Mexico.

Much of it goes right back in the form of estimated income tax payments, especially if your getting funds from sources which don't withhold any taxes. The other good use for it is home improvements, you have to keep modernizing your residence, if not only for your own personal enjoyment, and any realtor will tell you for resale you have to keep up if you want your price.

Nevada Ed..........I thought this was going to be ....I found 10,000 rds of .22 in the garage thread. Anytime you find $$ is a good thing

We had a windfall this past year and were not eligible for any stimulus money. My only hope is that at least some of the money gets to someone that actually puts it to good use, maybe those with no real need will donate it....HA! I tease my conservative friends and ask them if they are returning their government largess out of principle. We received one of the first stimulus checks for my wife's dead mother, she called our accountant and asked her advice, she said "spend it." We sent it back...Out of Principle.

I learned early on in my married life this... her money is hers, my money is ours which translates to hers because she keeps the books. She is pretty good about not complaining if I spend some of it without asking permission as long as the bills all get paid first.

Never thought I would see people making $150,000 per year and qualify for gubmint gimme checks.

Never thought I'd be able to carry $50 worth of groceries, but these days I can do it with only one hand.

Still adjusting to reality, I guess. I just wish it would hold still long enough that I could focus my eyes on it for a while.

I earn no where's near $150K, so I'm not "rich". But I am comfortable and being retired and having planned ahead, we are "comfortable".

We didn't "need" the stimulous. I sent it to St. Jude's. They DO need it.
